(S02E19) "The human body has its own built-in repair kit." - Kyle
This week's episode put the wheels in motion for a finale that will surely have us finally coming face-to-face with Sarah. I don't buy that she's dead. If Adam can heal himself, surely Sarah could too and probably better and faster than he could. Plus, the episode was way too Sarah-heavy not to mention her again in the four upcoming episodes of the season.
After a few somewhat-filler episodes, it was great to get one that pushed the show's mythology a bit further. We didn't get earth-shattering answers but we did get a better glimpse at who Sarah is/was and what Jessi can do. We know that Sarah Emerson was involved in the school's paper, won various prizes, was accused of sabotaging a Biochem final by writing the answers and vandalizing a lecture hall. She is such a legend for the students that there is a trophy case dedicated to her in the university's bar.
As if we needed it, we got another glimpse at how much Jessi is similar to Sarah. That glimpse was not a pretty one. "My mother was awesome," she said after seeing the Latnok symbol on the ceiling, a defying and frowned-upon act. Jessi is so driven that she is on a self-destructive path. Brian is pushing her a lot but Jessi is pushing herself even further and for what? She intentionally sabotaged the pool competition to come out on top. Her lack of social skills and empathy prevents her from seeing the bad side of what she did to Kyle when moving the balls. In fact, she is also hurting herself and it'll be a hard fall when reality hits her.
Kyle and Jessi can heal themselves and, as it is implied by the final scene, maybe others. With this superpower also comes a dark side and Jessi is the living proof. Now that she can heal herself, you can bet that she'll be bolder and crazier than ever; it won't just be jumping off the school's roof! Kyle better learn how to heal himself faster because I have a hunch that he may need to face off Jessi once again.
Speaking of Kyle's newfound healing powers, did he or did he not heal Andy? Since fans respond well to the couple that are Josh and Andy, I believe that he did. Let your voice be heard in our poll below.
If you recall the reviews I wrote last summer, I was questioning Declan's usefulness to the series. He was moping around and provided nothing to the storylines. I'm afraid this is the case once again. Even if he is in a good mood and says a few wise cracks, Declan doesn't have much to do other than drive the girls around. Now that Mark entered the picture, Declan has served his purpose with Lori. Plus now that the Tragers know the truth about Kyle, Declan doesn't have to protect and help XY anymore. I think it's time Declan moves to another town.
Other scenes of interest
Josh and Andy going through couples therapy was fun to watch. Nicole is quite the mom to listen to her son's girlfriend talk about making out with Josh and wanting more! The session also provided us with extra info about Andy: her name is Andromeda as in "ruler of all men" and not Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda.- Stephen using Jessi and Kyle to crack a program developed by one of his students.
- Kyle entering Jessi's room using her direct technique.
- Hillary starting to like Amanda because she showed her "facetious, self-aware and spicy" side.
- Amanda finally accepting that she'll have to share Kyle with others because he has a greater destiny.
- "I'm a teacher. I have to be the smartest one in the class." - Stephen
- "Kyle is coming to work with me. That never ends well." - Stephen
- "There is no one more like me than you." - Kyle to Jessi
- "He's like a television with only one channel. And it's not even a good one." - Andy about Josh

Personally, I think that Kyle did heal Andy, mostly because of the odd looks she gave him after the hug, almost as if she felt something pass between them. I also think it's genius of the producers to have Kyle try the night before Andy is do to have a test to see if her cancer is gone. Neither we, the audience, nor Kyle will know if he did it, or if it was her regular treatment that healed her.

I think that she is going to get sicker because of Kyle and that it will lead to her death. There needs to be more friction in different ways than just Kyle and Jessi.
I liked this episodes, the characters all flowed nicely and the bar fight was just over the top enough.
And the ending where what's her name told the family and no one believed her was perfect.

Honestly, the last minute of that episode was one of my favorite moments of any TV show I've ever seen
He healed her- I can't see how anyone can argue he didn't. The lights flickering in the background, the music, what Kyle said right before, the look on her face, Kyle's bloody nose...
Everything about that scene was perfect. He healed her, and he hurt himself (since I assume the blood thing can't be good for him) to do it- it fits into everything that makes Kyle's character perfect. His willingness to sacrifice himself for others is what makes him who he is. He can't even heal himself but has the ability to cure cancer without even knowing it at the cost of his own health?
I don't think the last episodes were fillers- I thought they were great at showing us more of the characters, and last nights capped that with an awesome ending that showed Kyle at his best. I can't wait for more

I think that Kyle healed Andy, but unfortunately in the process passed the cancer to himself. Like he did the oil in the water, he pulled the "bad cells" out of Andy and they transfered over to himself...(note the lights flickering in he background. They flicker when he's passing something on, whether it's electricity or something else, but the cancer had to have gone somewhere)...

Show was awesome. I agree that the last minute was pretty incredible. He heals her of Cancer in a selfless act. In fact, his abilities seem to manifest themselves when he tries to help other people. He's not doing it for personal gain. It's a refreshing change of pace and one of the reasons I think I like this show so much.
It is great that ABC lets you watch full episodes streaming from the Kyle XY site, cause for some of us, the ABC Family Channel is not included in the basic tier.
This show continues to impress me. I hope the quality can be maintained for a few more seasons...

This is an excellent show, ranking with 'Joan Of Arcadia' which was taken off the air. And what do we get instead? Garbage like all of the so-called reality shows. (Don't we see enough mean-spiritedness and backstabbing on the school grounds, in the workplace, and in the political arena?)
I was surprised to see this removed from the ABC line and placed on cable on the Family Channel. This show needs wider exposure. I never miss an episode....

i voted that he didn't heal her but now that i think about it, it would 'fit' if he did. now he has a ticking clock to see how good he really is at being the ubermensch that he is destined to be.
or he could have healed her like micheal clark duncan did in the green mile (great book btw) but no black smoke came out of his mouth so i assume he just internalized it.
i like but dont love this show. a number of actors are pretty bad (jesse, the new student, adults not the parents, etc) but the kid who plays kyle seems genuinely confused and strange - perfect for the character.

@lita:
Kyle XY has always been on ABC Family. ABC showed a few episodes last fall in hopes of driving ratings up for itself or for Kyle XY.

well...so..basically i don´t know what to think of that episode. i mean i totally loved it for the humour, i barely could stop laughing but there are few things which i found rather strange...kyle hasn´t got the abilities to heal cancer, has he? well after thinking about that i would say yes, nothing is impossible with him^^
i disagree with u in sending declan away, well i believe its mostly because declan and lori are my favourite characters on the show but i totally believe that he really belongs to that show and would be missed and that there are few great stories for him,we just have to wait and see what happens
BUT i really didn´t get why declan hit that guy in the bar? yeah well he´s is bored and whatsoever and tried to help his best friend out, but i don´t know..it just didn´t fit in..i have to admit though that the fight scene was just hilarious..hilary was just awesome filming the whole scenario with her cell phone and i totally loved the scenes in the bathroom...amandas look was just great when hils regarded herself as pretty and lori hearing the students talk about her father was really funny..
mhm well about that character (marc): i like him, hes kind of funny and cute, but please just let lori get back together with declan...(yeah i´m like a huge lori/declan supporter^^)
andy/josh: well i´m falling even more in love with them in every new episode^^they are adorable and fun to watch...:)

I believe Kyle did heal Andy. It was a great ending. I think the fact that Kyle did heal Andy is what makes him better than Jessi... Jessi may be a bit more advanced than Kyle is, but she could never have healed Andy like Kyle did. That's because she hasn't yet learned to think of others and not just herself as much.
