According to MSNBC, former co-host of The Man Show and radio personality Adam Carolla will be appearing on Dancing with the Stars. He will be partnered with two-time winner of the show, Juliane Hough.I used to be a big fan of the Man Show and I cannot help but think that this is the sort of show that Adam and Jimmy Kimmel would have incessantly mocked when that show as on the air. Mind you, they mocked most anything that wasn't drinking, sports or Juggies. Mostly they mocked themselves.
When a celebrity makes it to shows like Dancing With The Stars, it's a sign that their star has faded. I really hope Carolla surprises me and ends up being a phenomenal dancer, but I think it'll end up being like Jerry Springer's appearance. It's interesting that he's on, but once he's booted from the show his participation will be forgotten.

I was a big fan of Carolla when he did the "Loveline" radio show. He's a smart, funny guy who, on that show, was not as crass or stupid as "The Man Show" suggested. He's been off in morning radio for the past few years, filling a slot left by Howard Stern. I'm sorry to see him fall so low as to be on this absurd reality show. You're right, he'd be tearing this show apart piece by piece if he weren't appearing on it.

Although I did think he was the more talented of the Man Show duo, and his Loveline radio show was indeed great (much better than MTV's version of the show).

I listen to Carolla on my drive in to work in the mornings and I find him to be ultimately hilarious and entertaining. He's got a driving wit and I'd definitely give him more credit than appealing to "lonely, horny drunken SOB demographics".

"Loveline" was around before Adam ... "Loveline" is still around without Adam ... I prefer my "Loveline" without Adam, especially since I know him ...
Last season, Disney went for several specific demographics ... Teen/pre-teen girls with Sabrina Bryan ... Auto racing fans with Helio Castroneves ...
With Adam, they're trying to go for the 18-34yo single male with disposable income demographic ... the exact same demo that SPEED tries to get with shows like "Pinks" & "Superbikes" & "Unique Whips" ...
With Helio, Disney is banking on his win on DwtS will transfer over to increased ratings / new fans to their IRL / NASCAR broadcasts ... Unfortunately, the IRL season doesn't start til the end of March ...

I find it funny that the guy that wrote this article says he use to be a big fan of the Man Show but the post a pick of some other dude. As far as Loveline goes Its ratings were only high during the years Adam was on the show. It has low ratings now and has been dropped in many cities.

I just came to this DWTS page to read the re-caps from the first week of Season 6 and decided to scroll down and look at the previous stories that have been posted. I'm glad someone else said something because I seriously thought I missed something in wondering who the dude in the pic is and what he has to do with Adam Carolla. This isn't Adam Carolla.
