I guess that question is for all of the 9 year old girls reading this (believe it or not, girls 12 and under are our biggest demo) and not any of the 40 year old men who are reading this. Though after the various things that dads (and moms) have done recently to get tickets for their daughters, maybe it's a question for them too.
Disney is teaming up with Wal-Mart to unleash 140 different Hannah Montana items that they will sell in specially-designed "mini-stores" at 750 Wal-Mart locations. The items include wigs, clothing, glasses, and even cupcakes. Yes, cupcakes.
In related news, the Hannah Montana movie, with the cumbersome title of Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert 3-D, opens up this Friday for one week only. Many shows have already sold out. That's a shrewd piece of marketing, taking an insanely popular star, making a movie featuring her, and then releasing it to theaters for a limited time only. I'm sure we'll see it on The Disney Channel soon though.

Well, that first line made me feel awkward...
I should probably be more concerned that I read past the headline though.

The first time I saw Hannah Montana wigs at some kids' store in the mall, I thought they were disgusting. Then I caught some of the show and realized it was part of the show. While I am still unnerved at the concept of children in wigs, I don't see it as any worse than any other marketing gimmick out there.

12 and under? Are you freaking serious? I'm having a really hard time believing this. Will all the little girls please raise your hands so I know you're real and not the results of a tampered survey where "12 and under" was repeatedly picked because it was the first option?

Me? no. My 6 year old cousin - yes. Her parents bought her one for Christmas. This resulted in my father, mother, and uncle trying the wig on and making silly faces. Fun for the whole family!

That can't be right about the 12 year old girls. It just doesn't make sense, unless you're talking about the American Idol comments, thats probably the only show you review that 12 year olds watch. I mean come on.
