In a move that should only help the sophomore science fiction series, Sci Fi Channel and CBS announced today that Sci Fi has nabbed up rerun rights for the first two seasons of Jericho. Do you think they paid for the rights in nuts? Ahahaha! ... see what I did there? ... haha ... er, because of the campaign to-- ... uh ... *ahem* Never mind. To begin their exclusive six month broadcast portion of the overall three year deal, Sci Fi will air a four-episode prime time marathon on February 11th, one day before the new season premieres on CBS.CBS only greenlit a seven-episode second season when they caved to a nutty fan campaign to bring the series back from cancellation. Ironically, it's turned into a blessing since they wrapped before the strike could impact anything. But why not have Sci Fi air a 22-episode marathon of the entire first season the weekend before the new season airs, rather than just four the night before? That way potential new fans can get completely caught up before jumping back into the post-apocalyptic drama. And you should give the show a try. All those stupider shows you like are on hiatus already, so try something good for a change. Me, I'm gonna drop a couple nuclear bombs to raise awareness. Nothing like viral marketing!

They're already showing Season 1 on Universal HD...they just started showing Kidnapped and Friday Night Lights too.

Jericho was my favorite show last year. I am glad it is coming back, finally. CBS had better be ready to receive more nuts at the end of this 7 episode run!

They will most likely do what they did with Odyssey 5, show 3 episodes and forget it ever happened.

While I believe that what will most likely happen is just what Oreo said, I desperately want to believe this will help Jericho to get a 3rd season. If not on CBS, maybe the numbers will be sufficient for SciFi to make it their own.
Either way, I'm just thankful we get 7 more episodes complete with an alternate ending in the event that Jericho doesn't get picked up. For all the bitching I've done in the past over genre shows that were taken from us too early, I thought it prudent to remind myself that at least we've been given this gift of more Jericho.

I bet now that the strike has stopped all filming of TV shows .... CBS wished they had approved 12 episodes for this year and they were all finished. 7 episodes will go by quickly.

Watched the first 4 episodes on DVD the other night. Does this show get much better? I don't want to waste another 3-4 hours if the quality of the show doesn't improve drastically.
So far all the hub-bub seems unfounded. This isn't Friday Night Lights, Freaks N Geeks or Veronica Mars quality. So far it seems pretty episodic and mundane like a less creative version of Lost.

If the first four episodes of season 1 don't hook you, more episodes wont change that. I enjoyed season 1, but having said that, later episodes venture off into uninteresting "soap opera" style character drama.

Sorry Michael, SciFi is SD not HD...I long for the days when NBC gives them the money to upgrade...boy do I ever. Frankly, Jericho should have been on SciFi from the beginning. It is an extraordinary show and really draws you in. I am PROUD of the 30 tons of nuts!

I have Sci-Fi HD through comcast. I think I just got it this week. And I'm pretty sure they've had it on Direct TV for a little bit. I was actually pretty excited when I saw I had Sci-Fi in HD.

My favorite show...cannot wait for Season 2 to start. I actually got Nina Tassler from CBS on the phone during the Nuts campaign, right when the rumors started coming out that they were going to bring it back. And now I can re-DVR the first season...schweeet!
