Apparently, someone created a comic book in which the cast of Futurama meets the cast of The Simpsons. As a fan of both, let me say that it would be pretty cool to see on television. It's not outside the realm of possibility for the two universes to collide since both products are owned by Fox, much as having the Flintstones meet the Jetsons (both owned by Hanna-Barbera). Matt Groening does own the creative rights to Futurama, whatever that means.
However, since they're now on two separate channels (The Simpsons is on Fox and Futurama will be on Comedy Central), it seems less likely that the two universes would come together on television. Maybe if both were still on Fox, but not now.
I do think it's funny having Morbo filming next to Kent Brockman. And having Flanders running from the Robot Devil. Or having Miss Crabapple flirting with Zap Brannigan. Hell, it's all funny.

Actually, it's been long established that Futurama is a TV show in the Simpsons universe and The Simpsons is a TV show in the Futurama universe. So crossovers are unlikely.
That said, that comic is pretty entertaining and used some sci-fi magic to bring one of them into the others universe. It was a great discovery for me back when there was no sign of future Futurama.

That "someone" would be Bongo comics, the publishers of Simpsons and Futurama comics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama/Simpsons_Infinitely_Secret_Crossover_Crisis

haven't they already sort of had crossovers? in the bart's prom episode, bender shows up in the back of Homer's hovercar, says "what's up", and bart & homer toss him out.

This "news" is pointless. Do you not understand the fact that right now the only thing CC is showing is repeats and then the four DVD movies? So what does it have to do that they are both on different networks?

ACTUALLY, Comedy Central is leasing the CABLE rights. The broadcast rights are still reserved, so FOX could very well start airing brand new episodes. GASP!

Well actually, the comic is/isn't a crossover. If done on TV it'd be a Futurama episode. The plot of the comic is that the futurama people go to some comic book planet and the floating heads are there and they trap their minds inside a simpson's comic book.

didnt anyone listen to the director comments on the dvd? the simpsons is a tv show and futurama is for real. that is from matt and david. and yes, they have crossed paths in certain ways, bender in fantasy, and another surreal episode but the simpsons showed up as a product of the simpons show in futurama. and you call yourselves fans.
