Oceanic Airlines is back in business starting on January 31. Since the flash-forward finale of last season, Lost fans have been speculating about everything and anything regarding the series. As usual, and even if the cast and crew do their best to keep spoiler leakage to a minimum, information about the upcoming episodes has made its way to the web. Eight episodes have been completed before production had to shut down due to the writers' strike. But rumors (and spoilers) have it that this small number of episodes will be filled with jaw-dropping moments and deaths! Spoilers warning!
- Upcoming episodes (and seasons) will feature both flashbacks and flash forwards.
- It was confirmed that the following characters will get an episode centered on them in the first eight episodes: Hurley, Sayid, Kate, Desmond, Juliet, Sun and Jin, Michael. One episode will be multi-centric and will focus on the boaties (aka "Not Penny's Boat" people).
- At the beginning of the season, the survivors will be once again divided in two groups: Team Jack and Team Locke. Sawyer will support Locke while Juliet will be by Jack's side. It looks like Sayid may be on team Jack because in his episode, Sayid wants to go with the boat people while Locke wants to trust Ben and stay put.
- A few recurring (and potentially regular) characters will be added to the cast: Russell, a brilliant mathematician; Arthur Stevens, a ruthless corporate recruiter with a chilling presence;Charlotte, an intelligent twentysomething who has a rough time relating to people; Chandley Price, a therapist that could benefit from some therapy herself. They will be introduced throughout the first eight episodes. It is possible some guest stars become recurring characters. Note that names are subject to change.
- Kate's episode will see her go to court for all the crimes she committed. We are set to find out if Kate is pregnant in that episode. Insider sources say that this episode will rock the shipper fandom.
- Goodwin, Ethan, and Mr. Friendly will turn up in episode 6, Juliet's episode.
- Jin and Sun's baby will be named Jiyeon. It is said to be a common name for Korean females.
- Libby will appear in episode 8. Mr. Friendly will also be in that episode and, per on-set reports, he'll cross paths with Michael in NYC.
- The pilot, played by Greg Grunberg, will make an appearance.
- The Oceanic 6, aka the survivors who escaped the island, will slowly be revealed (it is unknown if all the names of the Oceanic 6 will be revealed in the first eight episodes). Sources say that the Oceanic 6 are Sun, Jin, Kate, Jack, Hurley and Sayid. Supposedly they made deals to get off the island that will leave them with a mix of guilt and denial. Rumors say that a seventh person makes it off the island but is not considered an "Oceanic 6".
- At least two characters will die in these eight episodes.

I don't know how but I've arrived till today without reading spoilers. I even had to avoid the trailer when everyone around me was talking about it. Now only 15 more days and I'll be enjoying Lost without a clue of what’s going to happen.
What an amazing feeling.
Greetings.

I'm just saying that I personally know at least two people going through the season 3 DVDs to get ready for season 4, and I'd hate for that to be ruined for them. But far be it from me to tell you what the spoiler policy is here.

Then those people should avoid television review websites, and stick to DVD review websites.

I think it's pretty commonly accepted that if people choose not to watch what's already been broadcast, it's their responsibility to avoid the "water cooler", and not vice versa. I. e., people who haven't watched all of season three shouldn't even begin to read articles about what to expect in season four--and there's no spoiler in the title, unless someone didn't know it had been renewed.

With the writer’s strike continuing, it will be revealed that the last half of season 4 with be done entirely with the actors making everything up as they film (with direction from the Producers on the set).
