Apparently, having versions of the show in France, Germany and the U.S. isn't enough. A new version of The Office is going to Chile. The Chilean version will star Luis Gnecco, whom I've never heard of but will undoubtedly become a household name in Chile soon if he isn't already. With all these international versions of the show being broadcast, it's a wonder that Ricky Gervais wants to work again. I'm glad he does. I really enjoyed Extras.
I recall reading that each version of The Office in each country has certain characteristics reflective of that country's attitude towards work. I wonder what characteristics the one in Chile will have that will make it unique to that country?

I hope they don't turn it to a Telenovela.
Joking aside.

there aren't many comedy programs aside of teleseries, there's a very good stand up comedy program, and (please don't laft) the last hit was a version of married with children, very funny but in our own sense of humor...

I love the original, really, really like the U.S. version, and have been itching to see the other foreign versions (if I can find them subtitled that is. eMule here I come!). The U.S. version is fascinating to me not only because of how good it is, but also in how it differs from the BBC original in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. I'll add the Chilean version to my future download wishlist. Unless they make the DVDs available here.

Just for the record: the 'original' version of The Office aired in Chile in the late 1970s as part of a comedy show dubbed 'el jappening con ja'.
