Prepare to be dazzled. Okay, that's probably not the right word to use when Harry Smith is involved. CBS is re-launching The Early Show tomorrow morning, complete with new set, new role for Harry Smith, new faces, and (most importantly) a new, aggressive attitude. The Early Show and other morning programs on CBS have consistently placed third behind NBC's powerhouse Today and ABC's Good Morning America. It's been so bad that 43 CBS affiliates have opted not to run The Early Show and have instead provided their own morning content.Starting tomorrow, Harry Smith will be the main anchor of The Early Show and pretty much at the helm of the broadcast.
CBS brought in take-no-prisoners producer Shelley Ross, who saved GMA's butt a few years ago but also got herself canned because of her impossible-to-please attitude with co-workers. Ross promises The Early Show will be more aggressive with breaking news and will be booking better guests than in the past. Previously, guest bookings were left to low-level producers and not given much priority. News judgment is still a concern for me, though, as Britney Spears is currently the top story on The Early Show's website (as of noon Sunday).
How will The Early Show differentiate itself from the other morning shows? It's hard to know. Ross' plan sounds a lot like what Today and GMA are already doing.

I have a couple of question. Have anybody ever saw Julie the chen-bot Chen backside?
2. When we see and watch her in the morning, her hair is always the same. Doesn't she have any other kind of style for her hair?
3. She walk just as stiff as Julia Roberts. Who knew their were two robot walking women in this country?
Julie I love you but; you need to change your look, hair, and show us the three-dimensional side of you body because all of america see is just two.
And quit saying [butt first] cause you aren't showing it. Did you say you were a English major? You show isn't acting like it.

I agree! I actually watch the CBS Evening News when Harry Smith anchored it. Looking back now, he seems like the obvious choice.
I'm surprised that Julie Chen is assuming a second-banana role on The Early Show, considering that her husband Les Moonves runs CBS. I bet that was an interesting conversation.

As far as I am concerned it's the Chen-bot that is the problem with The Early Show. But let's face it she isn't going anywhere 'til her hubby Les Mooves leaves CBS.
