Survivor Micronesia will make its debut on February 7th. The official website hasn't appeared yet, but the cast list is out. Well, at least the names of those who are perceived to be "fan favorites" is certainly of interest to me because I don't know any of the fans. Remember, the upcoming season is a hybrid "all-stars" version pitting fan favorites from previous seasons with super-fans of the show. What I don't get is their criteria for choosing the fan favorites. Jonny Fairplay? Give me a break!
The entire cast list after the jump ...
In addition to the very bizarre choice of Jonny "Ew" Fairplay (Survivor Pearl Islands) as a returning fan favorite, here are the rest of the favorites:
- James Clement and Amanda Kimmel from the recently completed Survivor China.
- Yau-Man Chan from Survivor Fiji.
- The Survivor Cook Islands season brings us Ozzy Lusth, Parvati Shallow, and Jonathan Penner.
- Cirie Fields from Survivor Panama.
- Eliza Orlins and Ami Cusack from Survivor Vanuatu.
The super fans are:
- Michael Bortone, age 34, an actor/writer from Los Angeles originally hailing from Boston.
- Tracy Hughes-Wolf, age 43, a commercial builder from Fredericksburg, VA.
- Joel Anderson, age 32, a firefighter from Avondale, AZ.
- Kathleen Sleckman, age 45, a golf course vendor from Glen Ellyn, IL.
- Erik Reichenbach, age 22, an ice cream scooper from Ypsilanti, MI.
- Mary Sartain, age 29, a small business owner from Emeryville, CA.
- Chet Welch, age 48, a beauty pageant coach from Ford City, PA.
- Natalie Bolton, age 32, a personal trainer from West Hollywood, CA (originally Houston)
- Jason Siska, age 22, a student teacher from Fox River Grove, IL.
- Alexis Jones, age 24, a motivational speaker from Beverly Hills (originally Austin, TX)

Johnny Rotten is the player we love to hate! I hope he stirs it up before he gets tossed. Wouldn't it have been great if they had included Danny Bonaduce as a "special celebrity player?!"

Hmmmm celebrity Survivor..... Instead of jail time for DUI and such, they can put them on an island instead. I might tune in for that :).
I am glad to see James coming back. I was rooting for him in the last season and it devastated me that he did not play the idol. I am also a big fan of Yau-Man. I think those two will team up because they both are hard workers and for the most part really strategic thinkers.

I think Fairplay was picked because he's the fan favorite to hate! Jeff said "You can't do the season and not invite your most notorious person". I totally agree. As much as I hope (and I'm sure it will happen) that he will be voted out early, I understand why they're having him back!

Geez. I think I've seen every episode of Survivor since it premiered, and I can't remember some of those fan favorites. Eliza? Ami? Who?
And where's number 1 fan favorite Rupert?!

Rupert was on the last all-stars, and this is an all-new "stars" show

Wow. I've never missed an episode of Survivor (sad, I know) and I have no idea who Eliza Orlins is. What makes her an All-Star?
Odd too that most of the superfan chicks look to be pumped with silicone.

Fairplay was an easy choice. As others here mentioned, the show needs someone to hate and this guy was custom made for that role.
Still, what would make this show an instant hit would be putting Danny Bonaduce in the same tribe with him.

Love seeing Fairplay there .. should spice things up a bit.
I guess CBS didn't mind Ozzy's nude Playboy appearance and decided to bring him back..

Eliza finished fourth in Vanuatu. Strong physical player, particularly in endurance contests - she's a marthon runner - but had a reputation for changing sides quite readily. As for Ami, she's the bisexual "barrista" who appeared in Playboy in 1996 - no real need to guess why she's there.
So we have no one from Palau or Guatemala, but they give us Jonny Un-Fairplay. Great!

I'm fine with Fairplay being there. I completely agree with some of the commenters... I like James, Yau-Man, etc. as much as the next viewer, but you just can't have 20 angels playing Survivor. The show needs at least a couple villains to stir things up and create some good conflict.

There is no way they would bring back anyone has already played twice...Rupert, Sue, Stephanie, etc.
The only winner who was asked to return this season is Tom Westman, but he turned down the offer. I don't think they were interested in any other winners.
