As I was surfing the web this morning, I came upon a casting call for The CW's Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants. Even if this reality competition is not the best reality TV show on the block, it seems that The CW thinks it did good enough to potentially grant Crowned a second season. Then again, maybe the pageant show will get a second chance only because The CW is running out of new episodes for its scripted shows.The network has yet to officially announce the renewal of the show. However, a casting call was sent yesterday to find, once again, mother and daughter teams for a second season of the series. They are looking for "gorgeous mothers and their grown up daughters to compete together as a team in a one-of-a-kind beauty pageant" and get the chance to win $100,000 prize and "a fabulous pair of tiaras." Contestants are not required to have pageant experience.
The current season of Crowned, starring Carson Kressley, Shanna Moakler and Cynthia Garrett, along with the mother and daughter teams, airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.

I don't think this has anything to do with the strike. The CW is a terrible excuse for a network and they need cheap shows like this to stay on the air.

I take exception with that comment about The CW being a poor excuse for a network! They have some terrific shows - Everybody Hates Chris, Aliens in America, Reaper, Gossip Girl, Smallville and Supernatural - plus some fun reality shows like Next Top Model and Beauty and the Geek! Crowned is not great, but it's fun and I'd like to see a second season.

First off, Laura is a spoiled B*TCH! Her mother is a clueless hillbilly who needs to get her boob job redone or just plain taken out! Secondly, Hollis and her mother should definetely win. As far as Laura stating that they have a facade on, BS. Laura and her mother are the ones who are faking every step they take. Backstage and in the house, Laura does nothing but berate her mother (who actually might deserve it) and she also talks about every girl in the house as if they were scum. But miraculously, in front of panel, Laura is all smiles and full of thanks. You're only fooling yourself, Laura/ How does your so-called-husband put up with you? As a fellow 20-something year old who is also married...here's some advice....lose the 'tude or you will lose your dude. Men can only take that bitchiness for so long before they cheat on you with someone who's probably better than you anyway. Get a clue Laura and pack up your "togetherness" and go back to Tennessee or whatever hillbilly nation you came from. You're not fooling anyone.
