As we approach Christmas Eve, and visions of new episodes of Heroes dance in your head, it's time to give thanks for everything you have in your life. I know I'm thankful for family, friends, and this delicious chai I'm drinking right now, but I'm also thankful for hysterical web sites like LateShowWritersOnStrike.com, the blog that Letterman's staff has been keeping since the strike started. And a few days ago they posted a strike-related crafts project you can make at home.
It's the Gingerbread Network Headquarters!
It's the recipe (well, not really recipe, they're assuming you already have a gingerbread lying around - these people are writers, not Martha Stewart) for a festive structure made to look like the headquarters of your favorite TV network. You take the gingerbread and glue them together with icing, then you decorate it with candy, jelly beans, and gumballs! To make it WGA-related, take action figures and dolls and make little picket signs for them and have them stand in front of your gingerbread HQ.
They use Elmo, but if you have any Hurley from Lost action figures or another character from a network TV show that currently isn't filming (a Dwight Schrute bobblehead doll might be nice), use that. Merry Christmas!

This would only be funny with the inclusion of a massive boot with the word "Networks" on it smashing everything in sight.
I know they're on strike, but does this mean they're barring themselves from using their talents in any way? Hard to believe this is the best that a group of creative types could come up with.
