Well, one of my Festivus wishes may be coming true after all. As we reported last week there are rumors that Donny & Marie (it is never Donny and Marie, always Donny & Marie) may be returning to television in perhaps a daytime talk show format or a reality program. My hope is that they shelve all of that and give us another variety show. And, if they can get it up in time, then we can have an Osmond Family Christmas.
Just like the one in this video, which seems to be from the latter (or last) season of the ABC variety show Donny & Marie. I probably remember these episodes the most because they featured every single Osmond that was still alive. In this example we see the Osmond Family band, including Jimmy on trumpet, Merrill on banjo, and Dad (may he rest in peace) on the bass guitar. We even get to see Marie play a little xylophone during the set.
Yes, George and Olive May have sadly passed on, but there are still plenty of Osmonds out there that could appear on a Christmas show. I say go for it, and just watch the ratings go sky high! Then again, the meds I'm on due to my winter depression may be muddling my brain and this could all be the senseless ravings of a lunatic mind. You, the TV Squad public, will have to make that decision on your own.

If they do come back, make sure the deaf brothers are included and have them sign the songs. The Osmond family should sign openly. I have talked with one of the brothers myself at the National Association of the Deaf. He expressed disappointment with the media for cutting the deaf brothers off and neatly kept sign language out. No more hiding or doing things in secret. Thank you!

You are correct, they do not make shows like the Osmonds Christmas anymore. I wish they would come back.

Also, remember how Bob Hope always had a female star sing his signature "Silver Bells" with him? Marie did it in 1975 when she was 15 years old...it cracks me up because she had the same high eyebrows back as a teenager that people try to pin botox on her as an adult. I don't think they had botox back then!

Also, in the other 1978 Christmas Donny and Marie link you can see the dance moves Marie made fun of when she said her dance experience was minimal:
