EW.com put up the The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations and we've got the nominees in the television categories for you. Not surprisingly, The Sopranos swan song continues to get awards show nods, with bids in all three categories it qualifies for. 30 Rock accomplished the same feat in the comedy categories. No other show was represented in all three drama or comedy categories.
Newcomers include Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Michael C. Hall (Dexter) in male dramatic actor. Holly Hunter (Saving Grace) was a new face in female dramatic actor, while Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?) and Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty) represented comedic actresses. Only Mad Men was able to creep in as a new show in the ensemble drama category. The complete list is after the jump.

Outside of the 30 Rock nominations, and the Grey's Anatomy actors being snubbed, I am NOT impressed with this list. The Drama Ensemble category is a joke. The Closer and Boston Legal over Big Love, Dexter, and House? Or even Brothers and Sisters (not a big fan, but it defines what a tv ensemble is)? Please. I'm getting really sick of the love for anything David E. Kelley does. I know his series have employed a LOT of actors who need gigs, but you would think the SAG would show some objectivity. Apparently not.
And I'm going to say something that will be sacreligous in the eyes of the critics: I don't think Mad Men is that great. I didn't grow up in that era, and maybe I'm too young to relate. But I've sat through several episodes and I'm just not blown away by it, as I am by Big Love and Dexter. Mad Men was created by a former Sopranos writer, and it has the same "oh see how insightful and provocative we are" quality that drove me nuts when i tried to watch the Sopranos.

Seriously? No Mariska Hargitay for Female Actor in a Drama? Has anyone been watching SVU lately? The gal is nailing every scene she's in! Plus she's gorgeous and classy... oh well, still I still love her!

If 30 Rock doesn't get best ensemble for a comedy series, it will be proof that we live in a world gone mad. There is not a single show that has such a strong and insanely funny cast as 30 Rock - every actor brings it.
