Little Jamie Lynn, a mere 16 years old, has topped her sister's head-shaving and child services investigation antics with this bombshell: SHE'S PREGNANT.Jamie Lynn is the star of Nickelodeon's Zoey 101, a show that I have never seen but assume is for the pre-teen set. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that show is probably canceled. Nickelodeon's official statement is in support of Jamie Lynn and "her decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation."
The baby daddy is Jamie Lynn's boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. She met him at church.
Somebody needs go give grandma Lynn Spears a drink. Or a parenting class.

I don't know about you, but I'd say that it means next to nothing that she goes to church. She may believe in God, that He exists, but it's apparent that He hasn't changed her life.... As Jesus said, "they profess me with their lips but their hearts are far from me". Not everyone who claims the name of Jesus Christ is actually His. Even the world can see these people for the sham they are... The church at large needs to WAKE UP and start living what it is and not catering to their flesh and the world around them.
Yes, we all make mistakes ... but I guess we'll see where this heads in the short future. A true 'change' would be to step out of Hollywood altogether, marry the boyfriend... *if possible* and ignore the media entirely.
Yes it does sound like her boyfriend should be jailed for statutory rape, along with the mother of the Spear's siblings for caring more about the popularity of their kids above their own well being. Look at the example of Mylie Cyrus (sp) and her dad Billy Ray. It appears that despite how Hollywood and our tweens might swoon over her, that she has a level head on her shoulders from the interviews that I've heard. Here is a dad that cares about his daughter.
It's sickening, and it just shows you that we should not lift up someone else as a role model, at least those of whom it's impossible for us to know what they are like in reality...

Apparently, when you are "star" (star? - being relative), you are immune to pregnancy? Come on? Don't any of these people believe in birth control? Well at least she'll be able to hire a mommy, uh I mean nanny to help, uh I mean, raise her kid.

I'm with you Anna, I'm pretty sure the show will be cancelled too. They're probably happy for the writer's strike so that they can just quietly end the show. The girl is 16 years old and was living with her 19 year old boyfriend. That's a pretty bad example for kids.

Mothers like Lynn Spears & Dina Lohan clearly don't have their children's best interest at heart. Unfortunately, it's the children who are paying for it (I know Brittney is legally an adult, but she still behaves like a child). I hope Lynn & Dina are happy of what they have done.
Looks like Brittney & Jamie Lynn are destined to have children running free & unsupervised in the mall, while they are in the mall bathroom with whoever having another child.

OK for those of you who are actually a member of society, teen sex is a huge issue. Over half of today's teens are having premarital sex. Something like this is bound to happen. Don't diss Jamie for being a bad influence because before this incident she was a teen idol. Things like this happen all the time in student's classrooms at school. The average high school has at least 3 pregnant teens attending it. At least this girl wasn't flaunting her sex life around... Just keep telling eveyone that what you did was wrong and that people dont need to follow this example, Jamie, everything will be ok

This is why abstinence-only sex education is so bad. If sex is "bound to happen" we should make sure kids understand, and preferably have access to (and use) birth control.

I think most 16 year olds are having sex now, so the shock is that she got pregnant while doing it? I think the real shock is that she's announced it and is going to keep it.
More power to her. She can afford it and she'll have the eyes of the world (or at least the eyes of the tabloids) on her at all times.
