Big Shots, the show I haven't heard one person talk about this new season, has been pulled from the lineup by ABC effective immediately.
The show starred Dylan McDermott, Michael Vartan, and Joshua Malina (who is on Last Call with Carson Daly tonight, probably to plug the show - awkward!) and aired Thursdays at 10pm, right after Grey's Anatomy. I guess not too many people were sticking around after that highly-watched show. There are three episodes left and ABC is taking the show off the air. No word on whether the show will return at a later date or if the episodes will show up online at some point.
Some are surprised that ABC would do this, since we're in the middle of a writers strike and the networks could use all of the original episodes that they can get. Big Shots will be replaced by reruns of Private Practice, which happens to be the spinoff of Grey's so now you fans can get an hour of Grey's/Private Practice goodness or Thursday nights.

I watched the first episode, and then I stopped watching. It was trying to hard to be Desperate Husbands, but it didn't pull it off.

This was an awesome show... The story line was well written and it seemed to be headed in an explosive storyline direction and then.... ABC screwed themselves.... I watched the first show of Private Practice and thought it was horrible.

I actually sorta liked this show! Sure it wasn't very deep, but it was entertaining!

It wasn't my favorite show of the season, but it did have some interesting stuff on it. I think that the tranny storyline was the worst of it, and the relationships between the guys and their women/kids were the best.
But with the strike, I don't understand why ABC would waste 3 episodes they actually have done. That seems stupid, to me. I had no illusions that it would come back next year, but with not much left to watch, I was looking forward to hearing more of the story.

Living in the UK I wouldn't know, but what do US networks air in the small hours of the night? You would think that having paid for episodes they'd at least burn them off at some time.

I loved the show, it was different. Not the usuall stuff about Ladies complaining, it was the men's point of view. It is a shame that it was pulled, at least have an ending............................

I liked it. It was funny, absurd, and trashy. Why do we have to watch reality tv all the time? Can't we escape? We have Desperate Housewives, and believe me, Grey's Anatomy isn't the true story of interns and residents at a hospital. It's just too bad they didn't give it a chance.

I liked the show. I think it was an excellent version of a male Desperate Housewives; although in actuality, it was much more than that.
ABC has a real hard problem launching and sticking with good quality shows. Last year it was The Nine. It's really apparent to viewers that there is no commitment on ABC's part to make this show work and build on it. The viewers sense this and then our commitment is low. After all, why stick with something if it is not going to be around?

It was a fun show, with more than a few good moments. Not mentally stimulating, but certainly better than all the reality show crap that keeps getting churned out. Just something fun to watch and laugh at. Hopefully the unaired eps will show up online.

I looked forward to this show every week after Grey's . It has a little of everything for late night. It's nothing else on now til the replacements come. Please put all the episodes on "DVD", I would buy them.

It's hard to believe they pulled a show with fresh episodes left, when they just have reruns to put in its place. I figured EVERY show was going to get its full run considering the alternative. Oh, and I liked Big Shots. I liked having a show where I didn't have to root for the characters and could just enjoy the horrible things that would happen to them.

Me and the GF actually enjoyed the show...a nice break from reality tv hell. But regardless of your opinion of the show, why in the hell would ABC pull it during a strike when they've still got 3 eps already in the can? Run those last eps and then drop the PP reruns on us. If the strike is going to last that long (as it's starting to look like), what's going to happen when we run out of 1st run reruns? Rerun the reruns?

ABC you did it again. You cancelled a show that had a male's point of view in relationships. Men like more than just shoot them up male shows. Alsmost all of your shows ( an the other networks) just want to feed us the women's point of view in regards to relationships. ABC, you have been my favorite netwoork, but that is changing fast.

What a mistake! "Big Shots" was well written, flowed at a great pace, and (while not earth-shattering) was thoroughly entertaining. It was NOT trying to be "Desperate Husbands" (PLEASE... did you see ANY campy melodrama in "Big Shots?)! And... it was just getting to a critical point in the storyline!
Of course, what do I know... I also liked "The Knights of Prosperity"... another outstanding show that died before it's time.
I hope the remaining episodes of both of these shows someday see the light of day!

You did it again, ABC!! Put a new show out there, ask us to watch, let us learn to love it, then yank it halfway through the season!! Big Shots is up against ER and something else fairly good, but those of us with Tivos manage to watch them all and love it!! Whatever happened to trying to switch a struggling show to a different time slot to see if that helps ratings, before just yanking it like last year's The Nine. It makes us not want to get involved with new shows in the future. Oh, and if I remember correctly, the 'press' never gave this show a chance at the beginning of the season. It seemed to get trashed everywhere I looked before it even started. It ended up being a welcomed change from all the reality stuff and crime dramas, and was a refreshing and yes, light-hearted, off-set to the female driven escape shows. Please give us the other 3 shows and reconsider pulling Big Shots from the lineup. There's not much on Mondays and Tuesdays, except the fabulous Boston Legal. After this year's The Bachelor, I would think anyone would rather watch the men on Big Shots than that fiasco.
