VH1 continues its foray into scripted fare, according to this Yahoo! piece, with Life and Times of Marcus 'Felony' Brown. The series, developed by In Living Color and The Wayans Bros.' Marlon and Shawn Wayans along with Rick Alvarez, tells the tale of an up-and-coming hardcore rapper (Darius McCrary) who moves to LA to record his second album, trailed by his manager, body guard and hype man. Think of it as Rap Entourage. It's being executive produced by the three creators along with Keenan Ivory Wayans.
While there's no official word of the Wayans appearing on the show, it seems inevitable that they eventually will. You know they can't keep their mugs out of their projects. Eventually we'll see Shawn, Marlon, Keenen Ivory, Damon, Kim, Craig, Elvira, Damien Dante, Michael, Cara Mia, Kyla, Vonnie, Nadia, Kim, Deidre, Dwayne and Damon, Jr. on the show. After that, they'll have to start thinking about the second episode.

"Think of it as rap Entourage"
I prefer to think of it as "canceled."

Are the Wayans not in the Writer's Guild? I didn't think making deals was allowed during the strike any more than actual writing.

The Wayans are actually a funny family, but they sometimes crosses the line of what is funny and what it gross. Seeing everything they done since "I'm gonna get you sucka" is a good example of that problem.

Marlon is a better actor than Shawn Wayans. I like Kim and Marlon the best on the screen. Keenan can be a pretty good producer. I wouldn't mind seeing Damon Jr if it kept Damon off the screen. Damon is behind Keenan when it comes to staying relevant. The show could work. I just wish we could get In Living Color back if they could find some new superstars in the making. Imagine original cast members returning for cameos...

Umm, Eligio.... "Sucka" was 20 years ago!
Every single thing they've done since then has been PAINFUL to watch, from "My Wife & Kids" to "Little Man". How exactly are they a funny family?
At least this will be on VH1 (as opposed to the other network they like to throw 'black' shows - the CW). They can schedule it between "Flava of Love" and "I Love NY" and have a solid programming block showing us black folk at our finest.
