Well, the guys behind the Venture Bros. have finally kicked things into post-production, working hard on the third season, which will most likely not premiere until June of 2008. At least it's going to look super-sexy in the new HD widescreen format, right?Doc Hammer, one half of the writing team and the voice of Dr. Girlfriend and #24, attended Dragon*Con to share the Venture love but, as always, refused to share any spoilers. We still don't have anything juicy at the moment, but storyboard artist Stephen DeStefano just updated his blog with some small sneak peeks.
First of all, we have titles for four of the episodes: "The Doctor is Sin", "Now Museum -- Now You Don't!", "Murder O'Clock", and "The Ant Farm". Knowing Mr. Hammer's love for the Apache stripe'd one, I wonder if "The Ant Farm" will have anything to do with Adam and the Ants. Hey, with David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Klaus Nomi all making appearances in the Season 2 finale, you never know.
Secondly, we see some flashbacks of the old Team Venture, complete with Swifty in hover-boots. I mean, I'm assuming these are flashbacks. For all we know, perpetually punchdrunk Swifty could have been totally ripped under his working uniform and Colonel Gentleman might return as a very well put-together zombie. Zombie Colonel Gentleman... It could happen!
And there's a Venture tank. Yeah. I believe the proper response to that is "AWESOME".

Do they need new villains now?
Baron Underbheit was exiled, the Monarch swore to leave Venture alone, and Phantom Limb has lost some body parts.
Maybe they will be superseded by (sex offender) Sgt. Hatred and Monstroso.

While Adult Swim has been slipping with some programming, Venture Bros., Frisky Dingo and Metalocalypse are consistently the shows that I most enjoy on TV.
