Here be Penrod conscientiously tabulating the very serious business of the WGA strike "countup," and Brigitte criticises his facial expression when she tries to dress him as the "Ghost/Pumpkin of Christmas Present?" Poor Penrod!
How else would Pen, or anyone else for that matter, react when faced with such humiliating demotion?
I think it's just an attempt to cover up his "hard to look at" hash marks. Hey, serious counting is not always pretty!

Maybe there’s been several Penrods and we just don’t know it. Sort of like what they did with Lassie or that dog on Frasier.
He’s certainly looking better than any 140 year old pumpkin should (in Pumpkin years and yes, I did the math: 67 years (average human lifespan) / 31 days (Average halloween pumpkin lifespan) * 65 days (Penrod’s life span thus far)

Yes, names are important. And as the season’s first snow starts to fall on Old Town, I've decided to reach back 10 years and dust off my original Internet alias...
I think of the changing from “Steven” to “Stormnform” as a step up similar to Hineywipe's case. However, I’m starting with self-respect and hopefully moving towards toward 100% self-actualization.

Sam I think your way off base calling Brigitte egotistical. She does a great job entertaining, and many enjoy it. Brig references people all the time. I myself have only posted a few times and was nicely surprised to be referenced.
I'm happy Brig does not sacrifice the quality of her show and respond to every hubris, self servingly poster that begs to be referenced.

Come to think of it, she even referenced Patrick (of all people). Although for as long as I've been a devoted fan, she's never referenced me (by name). I suppose she referenced me indirectly when she mentioned some people calling for the demise of Penrod. (Time to bake him, Brigitte... before he starts FEELING stupid!)
