(S01E11) "Why do people hate the rich?"
So I guess it's official -- Chuck is actually in love with Sarah. I know it's what the show has been heading toward but, when Chuck briefly dated Lou, I thought he was finally coming to terms with the reality that he and Sarah will never end up together. Now it looks like he's ready to go all Scarecrow and Mrs. King. As Casey would say, "(Grunt)."
I'm not too keen on the "can't live with 'em" storyline this week. Are we supposed to see some corollary between Chuck & Sarah and Morgan & Anna? I honestly don't see it. Chuck should stop mooning over Sarah and try his best to get on with his life, and Morgan should be thanking his lucky stars that a girl as hot as Anna is interested in him. When a show has a wild premise like Chuck does, the other details need to be more believable.
One bright spot of this episode would have to be the extensive involvement of the minor characters. Jeff, Lester and Big Mike are a big part of why I keep watching. I've run across many retail experts and computer nerds in my day and the Buy More crew is their spitting image.
I really enjoyed Morgan's meeting with the Wus, mainly because it was one of the most realistic parts of the show. It doesn't matter how Morgan acts in front of Anna's parents, he's going to screw it up. That's what he does.
The biggest disappointment in this episode would have to be the villain. I mean, after the mysteriously scarred Tommy (Anthony Ruivivar) and the limber Reardon Paine (Kevin Weisman), a phony philanthropist does not impress me. He wasn't even that suave.
I am hard pressed to give an Oh Snap Award for this episode, but if I have to it would go to the rocket that narrowly missed castrating Chuck in the most violent way possible. I kept wondering when the Crown Vic was going to figure into the plot. Kudos to the writers, 'cause I really didn't forsee the demise of Casey's precious car. Honestly, with gas prices the way they are in California, he's better off.
As underwhelmed as I was with this week's offering, I did enjoy the teaser at the end. Did all the stills of Chuck's friends and family mean that they're going to be taken out as well? Oh and I must admit that the sight of Big Mike dressed as Santa and grooving to Run DMC was worth the forty-two minutes I invested in this episode.

As great as the eps have been the last few weeks, this was certainily a lackluster one at best. It had some funny moments, but overall not the strongest of the series. Casey's love for his car (bordering on lust, almost) was pretty funny, though.

I think the review was even more lack-luster than the episode. Even though this episode was the weakest to date, it was still a good episode.

I think the funniest line of the show was Chuck asking Sarah if she thought "I'm a flash faker?"
This show is great for one liners like that - another good one from a previous episode was when Morgan called Chuck a 'mind cheater'.

That was my favorite part too. But I think that commercial might be 15 years old now, so it's a reference a lot of people missed. Still great, though.

I agree with Wintermute that the review was more lackluster than the show. Take a look at the review of the Heroes episode on TV Squad and compare it to this one and you can see that the effort here was lacking. The episode, although not as strong as others, was effective in showing character, particularly of Casey, Morgan, Anna, and Sarah. As for Chuck mooning over Sarah, I can understand him doing so after the kiss they shared when they thought they were going to die. That he now realizes that both he and Sarah share a problem with having "good relationships" also shows growth on his part.

I am concerned with the teaser for the next episode - whenever that is. I know from experience that we shouldn't be too concerned with what NBC lets leak, but they incorporated it into the show - the phonecall that Casey got at the end of the episode has me wondering where the hell they're going with this whole thing?! Computer crashes? Again? Casey "kills" Chuck like he did Brice? So confused... Still love it.

I loved this episode, besides the many Awesome one liners, it was packed with so many great little stories within a story. I did think toward the end when Morgan was on the boat and the rocket was headed his way that somehow the plot would have him discover Chuck's new 'job'.
Love the inclusions in the Buy More group; thought the Sarah playing it cold and professional taken perhaps one step too far.
I love this show, can't wait for the strike to end to see more "Chuck". Pay the talent for chuck's sake!

I'm also a little curious what clues they were exposing in the Beta Intersect scene. It's also obvious that Casey doesn't want to off Chuck. He's actually been quite chummy compared to his usual attitude. He cares for Chuck, even if he won't admit it. In a way I think Casey sees Chuck as the reason he works for the gov't. He's the purity of America that Casey is trying to protect.
I also loved Casey and his car. What a classic smack at sterotypcial federal Agents. The classic Man in Black car. Fabulous!
Plus I couldn't help, but giggle at Casey being preoccupied with a Buy More sale. Awesome!
I wish they would have done a little more with Anna and her apparent wardrobe change around her parents.
They also did a good job throwing in quite a few Bond moments in the Casino scene.
This episode is an aftermath to a few very intense episodes. It was a good segway to a possible future. Oh Writer's strike please come to an end.
