After making Deadliest Catch a huge hit for the Discovery Channel back in 2006, and still going strong, Thom Beers' Original Productions struck gold again with The History Channel's adrenaline rush Ice Road Truckers. Catch chronicles the real-life adventures of Alaskan crab fishers, considered one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, while Truckers is about one of the most dangerous jobs on land, driving big rigs in the Northern Canadian provinces over frozen lakes.
Now, according to Zap2It, Beers has inked an aggressive deal with NBC for three new shows. The network has given a 10-episode commitment to all three and guaranteed they will run at least two in prime time. So what are they about? Apparently, it didn't matter because Beers is working with the network now to figure out the subjects for all three.
They must have liked the innovation and style of his portfolio of shows, while I'm sure the strong ratings of said shows were at least a minor factor. Now in keeping with the theme of his two biggest hits, cold and dangerous, we're probably looking at a documentary chronicling the bedroom antics of the Clintons, a game show in which contestants are stranded on a tropical island and must wrestle a polar bear for a Spanish Green Lantern/Flash comic, and March of the Penguins: The Series.
If Morgan Freeman is busy, maybe Samuel L. Jackson could narrate. "Why the **** are these ********* birds going all that way just to get some? Look, this dumb bird actually thinks her man is going to be faithful to her. B****, he's already got a little Empress on the side. Yeah, don't look surprised!"

"We don't care what the shows are as long as they are cheap, and reality shows. Are ratings are so bad that it doesn't matter." - NBC
When did NBC become Fox with all their shows being jokes.
But how about instead of saying that they will show at least two of them in prime time that they promise they will show at least two episodes before canceling any of these shows.

You must be new at learning English. By saying that "all their shows being jokes", you must mean "all their shows being the best shows on broadcast television". The two phrases have almost the same meaning, so I see how you could have made that mistake.
Remember, ratings do not translate to quality.

Documentary shows and reality shows are 2 completely different things. I don't think there's any problem with a documentary series -- learning is a wonderful thing, and if it can be entertaining at the same time, then people will WANT to watch and WANT to learn.

These shows are great time killers and great infotainment, but a 48 minute show has about 20 minutes of recap and stock footage. How many times did I see the CGI truck fall through the ice, jeez.
I wish it would be edited down to be 30 minute episodes without the stock footage
