AOL TV releases their next ten Sexiest Women of TV this week. I figured I would add some more of my own television hotties to the list. For my list, I decided to pay homage to some of the beautiful hosts of Do-It-Yourself television (networks like Food Network, Fine Living, and The Discovery Channel). You may think that this list is way too obscure. But these men and women and totally hot and they teach us how to do stuff like make roasted asparagus or build rocking chairs or pick a color scheme for our homes. I think they deserve some attention.
Feel free to add your own favorite Do-It-Yourself Hottie in the comments. (By the way, my picks are in no particular order. I just couldn't choose who I liked the best.)
1. Tyler Florence: This guy is adorable. Oh, and did I mention that he can cook. Ladies, do you really need much else? Tyler's food is not the only thing that's hot in his kitchen. Okay, that was cheesy. But really, the Food Network has so many chefs that are talented and funny and interesting. However, not too many of these chefs are as easy on the eyes as Tyler Florence. He has several food network shows: Food 911, Tyler's Ultimate, and How to Boil Water. Aside from his handsome face, what's especially refreshing about Tyler's spots on Food Network is that he makes food that's easy and healthy. In both Food 911 and How to Boil Water, he focuses on making simple recipes that really everyone can try at home (no sous chef needed). If you haven't caught any of his Food Network shows, you've definitely seen him in his Applebee's commercials where he tells you go to the restaurant and check out his new recipes. (Applebee's realizes that a hot guy who can cook will sell lots of food.)
2. Giada DeLaurentiis: Aside from having one of the coolest names I've ever heard, Giada is definitely the sexiest woman to ever make spaghetti sauce on Food Network. (Even the name is kind of sexy.) She is so sexy that viewers have complained to the network about her low-cut shirts. I remember reading about that in a men's magazine while I was waiting to get my hair done. What kind of prude doesn't like a little cleavage with their Penne a la Vodka? Like Tyler Florence, Giada also has a few shows on the Food Network: Everyday Italian, Behind the Bash, Giada's Weekend Getaways, and Giada in Paradise. Clearly, the Food Network is on to something: videotape attractive people making food. It could work. Now, they just need to cut back on a little Rachel Ray. One more thing--Giada also appears on The Today Show as a guest co-host sometimes.
3. Andrew Dan-Jumbo: This handy hottie started as a carpenter on While You Were Out. Now he has his own show on TLC called Take Home Handyman. He has also made guest appearances on Trading Spaces and Oprah. From the looks of the picture, maybe every guy should take up carpentry if you get arms like that. Originally from Nigeria, this carpenter is not only known for his charm and good looks. He is also known for his odd behavior. He has been found washing his clothes in the homeowner's machine while others are scrambling to finish the makeover in the last hours. He also wears T-shirts with funny sayings on them like "Your girlfriend thinks I'm hot." And he's a bad boy. He was arrested this past June for trespassing at an American Red Cross fundraiser. The charges were later dropped. Okay, so that's not like Collin Farrell level of bad boy but it's something.
4. Constance Ramos (pictured at the top): This beautiful brunette has used her creativity and good sense of aesthetics to land several spots on design shows. Connie Ramos has appeared on HGTV's Designer's Challenge as the winning designer and her work has been featured on magazine covers, including Better Homes and Gardens. Originally from Kansas City, MO (she was a cheerleader for the Kansas City Chiefs), Connie is best known for her appearances on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition along with Ty Pennington and other design talents. Connie met her husband through her involvement in this show; he nominated a family for whom the team built a house. She now has her own HGTV series called Color Correction where she helps people who have chosen the wrong color or inherited a bad color in their homes. Connie has also done set designs for commercials (Wal-Mart and Kodak).
5. Sarah Backhouse: Sarah Backhouse is originally from Edinburgh (born to an English father and Japanese mother), but she grew up in a few different places: United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan. After completing her Bachelor's degree and doing other TV projects, Sarah landed a spot at Fine Living in the summer of 2004. Utiliizing her diverse background, she currently hosts Fine Living's The World at Your Table. On this show she visits families of different cultural backgrounds to uncover their secret recipes and their personal styles of entertaining.
6. Mike Siegel: Originally from Chicago, this cutie is a professional stand-up comedian, actor and television host. Mike started as a radio on-air personality then segued into TV as a VH1 personality and host of NBC's hidden-camera special Payback. Mike now hosts What You Get for Your Money on Fine Living. Each episode takes an amount of money (anywhere from $400,000 to in the millions) and shows viewers what real estate they can buy in different areas of the country. The show includes personal stories and shows a lot about the varied lifestyles in this country. And a little trivia: Mike Siegel appeared in the highly-acclaimed Steven Soderbergh film Traffic which also starred Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Benecio Del Toro.
Honorable Mention: Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs. I wanted to include him but Dirty Jobs isn't a "do-it-yourself" show. It's an interesting show all the same. I guess I mean interesting in wow-that's-really-gross kind of way. However, the one thing that is not gross about the show is its host. I know he doesn't fit the category for my list but hey, he's hot so I had to be sneaky.

I'll take Alton Brown over Tyler Florence any day. He's smart, funny, cute, can cook, *and* explain science so anyone can understand it.
Then again, I've always gone for geeks over hotties.

I think it's funny that the last three or four comments I've made at TV Squad have all had to do with Food Network chefs that I think are hot - but if the bloggers keep writing about them, I'll keep agreeing :-D
YES to Tyler Florence, and I'd add Dave Lieberman to the list as well!
Alton Brown? Charming, funny, and a pleasure to watch... but sexy? Not so much.

Did you not have a better picture of Mike Lowe? Very unflattering. Poor guy.
Where's Nigella Lawson? Now that's sexy.

Mike Rowe has it all, funny, sexy and the voice! Ty pennington used to be hot on Trading Spaces - then became obnoxious on Home Makeover - now I can't stand to look at him or hear him speak.

As an interior designer myself, and an HGTV fanatic, I have to add my list:
David Bromstad from Color Splash
Kristan Cunningham from Design on a Dime (although now she's on Rachel Ray)
Angelo Surmelis from 24 Hour Design (formerly of TLC's Clean Sweep)
Carter Oosterhouse from Carter Can (formerly of TLC's Trading Spaces)
Evan Farmer from Freestyle (formerly of TLC's While You Were Out)
Chayse Dacoda from Get It Together (also from While You Were Out)
And it's a given that most of the carpenters are usually hunky guys, so I won't list them all here...
(I really need to get out more...:)

Paige Davis is coming back to Trading Spaces. She is so fine. Also, Teresa Strasser from While You Were Out is on TV Guide Channel and on The Adam Carolla Show on the radio.

Another vote for Teresa Strasser from the old While You Were Out. And Amy Wynn (sp?) from the same show; hottie with a tool-belt. Yum.
And though not actually a DIY show, I get all googly over Stacy London from What Not To Wear.

I agree with Kel about Nigella. She's just so sensual with her food. If you've ever seen her show, you'll see how she loves to lick the spoon and orgasm over it.

As a male, I think Giada is just dreamy. I know, she is petite, incredible dental smile, but is just genuine. I missed her book signing. Yes, I know she's married to her highschool bo. Again, she is a real person. Not some flake, that has everyone doing her work for her. She is just happy.
If I were a woman, I would have to go with Mike Rowe. He seems like a straight forward, no BS. Plus he's got FORD commercial voice overs now so he can only go places.
Um, check that out! The two I think would be best, are highest in votes. Neat!

I'm glad someone mentioned Tanya. She is so gourgeous, I really don't like the show much, but whenever I see her on the tube, I have to stop a minute just to gaze at her. I can't find anything to dislike about her. Ok, sounding kind of stalker-ish now.

My first exposure to "Trading Spaces" was due to it being an Americanized version of the BBC show "Changing Rooms" - I found "Trading Spaces" to be inferior. My favourite designer on the show was, beyond a doubt, the gorgeous Anna Ryder Richardson.

I second Alton Brown. Cute, funny and smart is way sexy.
I can't watch anything with Giada. She's way too skinny for me to take seriously as a cook. I think a real cook should look like Ina Garten!
