Geeks and fruit lovers rejoice, NBC just announced that it is ordering an extra nine episodes of two of its new series: Chuck and Life. What that means is that both series will have a complete first season of 22 episodes each!About 8 million viewers tune in weekly to watch geek-turned-secret-agent Chuck Bartowski solve crimes with his two handlers and to witness Detective Crews solve cases after sering time in prison for a crime he didn't commit.
"Both shows are hitting their stride creatively, have developed loyal audiences and offer unlimited potential to grow throughout the season," said Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, when he made the announcement today. Being a fan of Chuck and having enjoyed a few episodes of Life, I can't help but jump up and down by this news. Of course, some NBC viewers will not join me in the celebration since NBC didn't announce that Bionic Woman was also getting a complete season...
Chuck airs on Mondays and Life airs on Wednesdays on NBC.

Sadly, it also appears that Journeyman will not be extended to a full season.

I'm hoping it comes down to Journeyman vs. Bionic Woman. And it's fairly obvious who will win that battle. I'll give you a clue. It's the good show!

Good to see Life getting a full season. I just found out that Damian Lewis is a Brit doing an American accent. And a great one at that.

To #5, do yourself a favor and rent "Band of Brothers", if you like Lewis.

I'll probably try to catch Life on reruns since I gave up on it after the second episode. But yay great news for Chuck! Woo!
And if it IS between Journeyman and Bionic Woman (more realistically it's BOTH of them), then definitely Journeyman.

Glad to see that Chuck is going a full season. It's a good diversion, kinda like Reaper.
Life is that good? I've never watched it. The commercials make it seem like it's NBC's answer to House.

Great news. These are the only two new NBC shows I give a damn about, so I'm very happy to see both of them renewed. I had an interest in Bionic Woman, but they slowly lost me to the point where I unsubscribed from it on my DVR.

But what about the strike? I thought, as the strike continues, the chance for any series to get 22 epsiodes this year is slim.

Yeah, ditch Bionic Woman and bring back Journeyman! Journeyman, Life, and Chuck are the best new shows of the fall - too bad NBC doesn't have enough brains to figure that out.

Anyone notice how House/Hugh Laurie and Crews/Damian Lewis, both lauded for there flawless American accents, appear to speak with some sort of lisp or slight speech impediment, which they don't seem to have in there normal British speaking voices?

Ah, so glad about this! I love Life and Chuck. Now if they'll just cancel Bionic Woman, NBC will have done the right thing. :-)
