Crane/ValdisA roundup of TV people from in front of the camera and behind the scenes who have passed away.

  • Sigrid Valdis: She was best known as playing Hilda on Hogan's Heroes. She went on to marry costar Bob Crane on the set of the show in 1970 (her married name was Patricia Crane). She also appeared in other shows, including The Wild, Wild West and Kraft Suspense Theater, as well as the movies Our Man Flint and Marriage on the Rocks. She died of lung cancer at age 72.
  • Verity Lambert: She was a television producer whose credits include Doctor Who, Budgie, Love Soup, Quartermass, Minder, and Jonathan Creek. She died in London at age 71.

  • Peter Zinner: He was a film editor whose credits include the miniseries War and Remembrance and Winds of War and the films The Deer Hunter, In Cold Blood, The Professionals, A Star is Born (1976 version), and An Officer and a Gentleman, among others. He was also the music editor for such movies as Lord Jim, King Kong vs. Godzilla, and the early 60s series Miami Undercover. He died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at age 88.

  • Marvin Zindler: He was a veteran TV reporter and commentator, probably best known as the guy who shut down The Chicken Ranch, a case that was later the basis for the stage musical and film The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. He had worked at KTRK-TV in Houston since 1973. He died of cancer at age 85.
