This news is sure to upset fans of the NBC show Journeyman: the show will probably end with the 12th episode.
And just so you know this isn't a guess, this word comes straight from Kevin Falls, creator of the show. He says that because of the show's so-so ratings, and the fact that it doesn't look like the writers strike is going to end anytime soon, that episode will probably be the last one for the series. If it's any consolation for fans, Falls says that the episode does work as sort of a series finale and does answer a lot of questions. Though I would guess that those answers won't be enough for hardcore fans. It also leaves an opening for a second sesaon if that were to occur.
The 12th episode will air either at the end of December or early January.

Another good series killed because of the almighty dollar. Journeyman should leave network TV and goto cable. Look at Dexter, they get about a million plus per episode and they are rockin' on cable.
Can anyone say Daybreak or The nine? (although the nine wasn't anywhere as good as Journeyman).

Journeyman is the only show on NBC that I take time to watch. I will be sad to see it go. Didn't NBC have some show that got dismal ratings its first season that they kept around because it saw promise? I think it was called Cheers.

Damnit. I'd held out hope, and even got a few friends and my dad hooked (just doing my part), but knew it was likely a lost cause. This is one of the best shows on TV in the last few years, hands down... But that just means that it'll get screwed over hard while intellectually devoid shows like "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" lives on forever. :(
Ah well, at least this wasn't shown on FOX. It'd have never made it past the second episode.
Maybe we, the fans, can campaign enough and get it saved a la Jericho (long shot) or maybe picked up on NBC-owned SCI-FI?

You are very kind, "so-so ratings", the ratings are flat out terrible, this isn't a surprise at all.

That's too bad. Why can't the strike kill off some of the bad shows instead??

I knew this was going to happen, but I was hoping I was wrong. Journeyman has been one of the best shows on TV lately and definitely in my top 3. I'm a Jericho fan, but Journeyman was way better.
Oh well,.. another one bites the dust.
(I'm sorry if this is a double or triple post, but Comments don't seem to be working right)

I'll miss "Journeyman", too. It got better with each episode, and I was really starting to look forward to it. AND it had excellent opening credits.

Wow. Such venom for the dollar.
What do you think brought this show to the air?
Hey, the network should keep the show going. Sure, most shows stick around if they can make money for the network, shareholders, actors and staff, and sure, this show can't do any of that, but let's keep it around for the amusement of the Almighty Ron Whitlock!
C'mon. This is a business. Stop pretending it isn't. It's all about the dollar. The worst show in the world will stick around if it makes money (see: American Idol.) The best show won't if it loses money (see: Arrested Development.)
You're acting like it's a surprise, a rarity, or a bad thing.

I loved this show, and it really did get better with each episode. Maybe I'm just a sucker for time-dramas, but this show was very well written and acted. I'll be sad when it's gone, but at least it sounds like it's going to end with a sort-of conclusion to the series episode. =/
The theme to the show is awesome. So much so that you can buy the full version on iTunes.

I enjoy Joyrneyman--and Bionic Woman. I'm surpised it wasn't able to maintain more of the Heroes viewers...maybe the older cast turned people off.
'Oh well' indeed.

Even though I was never really impressed with this show, i watched it because there was nothing else in its time slot. I'm not surprised it has low ratings, it's a hard premise to keep interesting week to week. I will miss Reed Diamond though, I thought he was the best part of this show.

I hate the strike, but it can't be blamed for this. It lived longer than the ratings would normally have predicted because of the strike. The same can be said for many of nbc's shows. They held onto what they already had knowing the strike was coming and suffered through November sweeps with most of their shows in third and fourth place in their timeslots.

So is the 10 PM monday slot now officially where good shows go to die on NBC. Studio 60, Journeyman, and Friday Night Lights all have had similar numbers residing in that slot. Only FNL was immediately rushed back to its original night and survived the cursed time slot.
I suppose that one must give credit to that utter crapfest that is CSI: Miami. Nothing can sway the American Sheeple away from bad acting and terrible writing.
