At the age of 54, it looks like the Hulkster is on the market again after twenty-plus years. According to MSNBC, Hulk Hogan's wife filed for divorce. To make matters even worse, apparently he didn't even find out until the reporter investigating the story told him that the paperwork had been submitted to a Florida court.
In their VH1 reality TV series Hogan Knows Best, Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) and his wife Linda attended couple's counseling. On the show, they appeared to reconcile. This is why reality TV should in no way be confused with real life.
Celebrity marriages always seem doomed to fail and marriages in the wrestling industry seem even riskier (if the people involved even survive the experience). Even on their reality show, the couple has obviously been having difficulties for a while. I do hope they reconcile, but I don't have great expectations that they will. Dealing with the public spotlight is a lot of pressure on anybody.
Between this and Hogan's son getting busted recently for drunk driving, it should make for an interesting new season of Hogan Knows Best (if there is one). It certainly creates enough drama. Plus the strike doesn't even affect them since they don't use writers. This could be a ratings bonanza.

Brad,
Your comment, "if the people involved even survive the experience", is in rather poor taste. The article doesn't need a such snide jab.

I agree with Chead, there was no need for that comment.

Why was it in poor taste? The number of wrestling-related deaths has been well documented. Should we just gloss over that because it makes wrestling fans (of which I once counted myself) uncomfortable?

The real dumbass here is the person who thinks the answer to marriage related issues is to not get married. So 2 in 10 work my marriage has worked for 23 yrs.
If you don't get married then what will you do have several baby's daddies?
Get real here the only real way to bring down the divorce rate is to actually know the person you intend to spend the rest of your life with well enough to know if you can live with their faults.

Fisherman, you really shouldn't refer to people as "no brains" it isn't polite, and may explain why your relationships don't last. Sponkos suffers under the John Gabriel Theory, and isn't worthy of response.
The reason so many marriages fail is that people are not prepared for the downsides. My wife and I were together for five years before we got married. In that time she was able to come to terms with the fact that I am a terrible person (read: male). The reason our relationship works and will continue to work for a long time is that we fully accept each other faults, and decided, before we were married, that we could live with them.
I feel really sorry for The Hulkster. It's bad enough to be in a troubled relationship, but to find out from someone else is just salt in the wound.

I wonder if being told by a reporter first came as a complete surprise or was it another publicity stunt?
