The world does not revolve around you. Have you thought for a moment about the fact that what the AMPTP tried to do was patently unfair, and that maybe it is worth it for us not be able to see our favorite shows for a couple months if it means that the auteurs are fairly compensated for their work far into the future?

Only about a handful of writers make a steady living. Most writers are constantly looking for work as THAT IS THE NATURE OF THE INDUSTRY. Artists whether writer or actors or directors job is to look for a job. They site around all day thinking up stuff WITHOUT PAY most of the time. Landing a TV show is a blessing that only a few actually get.

You people are so easily fooled by these news media on TV ran by these large corporations spilling out propaganda. Stupid people who blame writers for the strike when the AMPTP are the ones who's playing you all for a fool.

The WGA even tried to avoid the strike by caving in the DVD's residuals that they are due. DID YOU KNOW THAT THEY DON'T GET PAID WHEN YOU BUY THE DVD's OF YOUR FAVORITE SHOW, but the producers are obviously making more money in that market then they are on TV itself.

SERIOUSLY YOU PEOPLE HAVE GOT TO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!

These producers are villianizing writers and the creatives saying they are greedy when in fact they are the ones being greedy. They decided let the writers strike, that will make them look bad. When in fact it's the producers refusal to negotiate at all. They WANT EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! They dont' want to pay ANYTHING!!!!!! You guys have absolutely no idea what the majority of working writers go through. It's not an office job. Most of them don't work on a hit TV show. Most are slaving away to get a good script out to sell to these producers on their own time and on their own dime. They take any little job they can get to get by just like everyone else. The 100k+ are only a handful of people. That's like saying Americans don't need affordable health care because they are all rich because Bill Gates makes billions. DO YOU MAKE BILLIONS!!!!!!! I'm assuming most of you don't. You see the few writers who make tons of money without realizing for every one hugely successful writer, there are hundreds of writers out there who are just getting by. THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT THIS STRIKE IS FOR...

I myself am an actor and with the WGA strike, I'm affected cause I'm not getting out on auditions. But it is not their fault, but the fault of the producers. When SAG contract ends, they are going to villianize actors too. And I can tell you I don't make 100k+ a year. only 5% of SAG members make that kind of money. The rest of us are just making barely anything. And you want to take residuals away from us when the producers make millions in residuals.

Not everybody gets paid the same ..so they need to shut up and go back to work .

Get the facts. The strike is about how the pie is divided up.

There is PLENTY of money to go around there, they are just arguing over how it is divided. Sure, some writers may make a good salary, but most don't.

It's the same thing with pro athletes. They do get paid a lot but why should they get (for example) 30% of the money when the team owner gets the other 70%?

And any of you who think writing is so easy, go ahead and try it. It's much harder than you think, but then again if you don't recognize good writing, you won't know the writing you did and think is good, is actually pretty bad.

According to the New York Daily News, "The performances at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater benefit show staffers and crew who have been out of work since the Writers Guild of America walked out two weeks ago." So this is to benefit thouse crew. The writers know they are affecting a lot of people, and are trying to mitigate as much as possible and still force the producers to come to the table and talk.

Life isnt fair and even less so when one chooses to make their living in the arts.

Not all writers make the big bucks but the writers who struggle are the ones who will not work again when this is over. But those that do make money and are the driving force behind the strike will make it. Along with the over priced actors and studios.

These few people are shutting down an entire economy that hurts folks all the way down the food chain. Lets see these writers, actors and studios make shows without the crews.
