Bill Lawrence, creator of Scrubs, refused to write an "emergency" series finale to use in case of a strike. According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC studios, which produces Scrubs, asked Lawrence to quickly write a series finale before the strike began. The studio apparently asked Lawrence to write a finale where "two people kiss" to cap off the series. But Lawrence stuck to his regular writing schedule for Scrubs, which means there is nothing written for a series finale.Lawrence said he will write the finale he wants and will fight with the studios to have it shown, even if it means it gets shown next season (this is Scrubs' final season). If NBC doesn't show it, the finale could air on ABC.
Of the 18-episode order from NBC this season, all but the final seven episodes are written. Scrubs is still shooting, although Lawrence has not crossed the picket line to participate in any of the production.
Sidenote: Let's hope the "two people kiss" is J.D. and Dr. Cox, not J.D. and Elliot.

scrubs has written itself into a corner.
JD is trapped to a women he has no fillings for and theres not enough time to show a meaning ful connection to anyone else
ergo
we must kill JD's son
its the only way
do it in such a way that we have to evaluate the whole "i cant operate on my own child" and bring back the hot shrink to console JD and Turk (the surgeon who couldve saved Sammies life but couldnt cause of his relationship to JD) and have Dr. Cox finally show compassion to JD and JD finally not needing/wanting it as he finally groups up and becomes a man

We deserve more than a slapped together finale after all the years we've invested in this show.

JD and Turk seem like the obvious choice for a kiss...

One thing to remember, the "two people kissing" was suggested by the studios. It might not be what Bill had in mind to end the series

If I were Bill Lawrence, I'd take the network's directive and go where they'd be afraid of it.
