This week I got a great letter that brought back some fond memories.
Curtis Smith writes:
"I'm sure you hear this all the time, but for the last couple of years i have been trying to remember a short lived TV show that I saw in the mid to late 80's. It was about a kid who's dad was a secret agent and the kid some how got involved with the government. the only episode i can sort of remember is him trying to hide an attractive spy from his mom. Any help you have would be great. "
I'm sure many of you recognize this show as one of the earliest FOX offerings, The New Adventures of Beans Baxter.
The show starred Jonathan Ward who previously had starred on the network version of Charles in Charge.
I'd like to take this time to defend C in C against those folks who consider it to be a terrible show. I admit that the scripts were aimed at younger viewers but it was really a show for everyone. The Pembrokes were a typical American family and Charles was an attractive young man with an interesting job. Throw in Jennifer Runyon as Gwendolyn Pierce and there's something for everyone. Oh and Willie Aames has never been funnier.
Now for this week's question...
What is the real last name of Willie Aames?
Mile High Sooner got the correct answer. Upton it is. Congratulations.

Yes, Myron, the "other version" was syndicated and featured the Powell family instead of the Pembroke family.

I loved Beans Baxter. That show was ahead of its time.
