Here are the weekly TV ratings, by number of viewers.
It's becoming clear that it's a Dancing with the Stars world, and we just live in it, to paraphrase what they used to say about Sinatra. Not only does the show have two of the top 10 slots this week (and some weeks it has three), it also seems to have a lock on all of the entertainment shows too. What's happening on Dancing with the Stars tonight! Who is getting kicked off! Why did Marie faint? Is Jane Seymour's house safe from the fire? Who is dating who on Dancing with the Stars? Can the dancers of Dancing with the Stars solve the writers strike and bring peace to the Middle East?
I also find it interesting that even though CSI: Miami is the most popular show in the world, it still loses out to that quiet powerhouse, NCIS, in the U.S.
1. Dancing with the Stars - Mon (ABC)
3. 60 Minutes (CBS)
4. CSI (CBS)
5. Dancing with the Stars - Tues (ABC)
6. Desperate Housewives (ABC)
7. House (FOX)
8. Sunday Night Football (NBC)
9. NCIS (CBS)
10. Criminal Minds (CBS)
11. CSI: Miami (CBS)
12. Without A Trace (CBS)
13. Survivor (CBS)
14. Samantha Who? (ABC)
15. Cold Case (CBS)
16. Two and a Half Men (CBS)
17. The Amazing Race (CBS)
18. CSI: NY (CBS)
19. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC)
20. Sunday Night Pre-Game (NBC)

It's because of Miami. Those wacky Europeans LOVE Miami.

Wow, NBC sucks. If it weren't for football they wouldn't even be listed.

Let me give you a hint, Dave. Popularity does not always equate to quality. It's sad you haven't learned that yet.

The list of ratings used to be visible on the main pages without making the jump. Can you make it the way it used to be and stop putting the list after the jump? It's annoying. Same goes for the cable ratings too. Much appreciated.

I like the "comments" added to make the list more than just a list. I do agree though it'd be nice if we still didn't have to make a jump to see all of them. It doesn't seem like it becomes all that much longer with the comments to warrant the jump.
While Without A Trace isn't a slouch in any means, it will see a nice bump hopefully this week during the CSI/WAT crossover, I wonder if they are actually going to tie in viewers? When I heard that they were going to be paired on the same night at the beginning of the season I thought that it was a shame that WAT got moved off of Sundays, but this pairing makes more sense with the crossover. CSI wouldn't really have fit well with a Shark crossover now would it??

-I'm gonna copy/paste this rant every week. -
There's only ONE show i watch on that list and it's House, like Bob said, are we just out of touch?, no one i know watches any of these shows. It's pathetic really.
And i watch ALOT of shows, so that means of all the shows i currently watch only House will get a new season? So that means Prison Break, Heroes, Journeyman, Reaper, Bionic Woman,Chuck,Dirty Sexy Money, Cane,Pushing Daisies,Smallville,Supernatural will all get cancelled or not get renewed? That's freaking ridiculous!
And it's like this EVERY SINGLE YEAR! I don't even know why networks even TRY to create new shows or even less serial shows, they could just have the same shows year after year and still win in ratings! Why try new things when the american people obviously don't want it?
It pisses me off since i'm such a huge TV lover, and every year 85% of the new shows i start watching get cancelled because all the stupid americans with the nielsen boxes decide they only want procedurals, reality shows and sitcoms. Why can't sitcoms die already? I thought they were almost dead but i guess you crazy americans still love to be told when to laugh.
Like i said in another post, they should REALLY destroy those nielsen boxes or give them to more intelligent people!
Though i will say this, i'm surprised no shows have been cancelled yet (i don't count Nashville or Viva Laughlin) usually by this time of the year 3-4 shows have already been axed.
/end rant

Nothing really has been canceled due to what WAS the impending writers strike...the networks HAD to have that on the brain when thinking of what to do. Looks like they made the good move for them.
It makes me wish the strike was last year, then I would have gotten to finish Daybreak, Kidnapped, Vanished, Six Degrees and probably a few others that I lost. I wonder if, if this goes on through next year, any of the networks would consider hauling any of these out of the vault...only to cancel them mid-season again when an agreement was finally reached.

Where is Heroes on this list?
what! NO.....................
The CREATOR'S masterpiece didn't make the list?
How could this be ?
The CREATOR is a master writer.
Without The CREATOR there would be no NBC.
Doesn't Nielsen know that Tim Kring, The Creator taught the audience a certain type of storytelling?
This storytelling was revolutionary, it made the audience change the channel from HEROES to "I LOVE NEW YORK"!!!
Tim is a fantastic writer, thanks to his writing genius, HEROES is now #59 out of 40 on the most watched 40 tv shows list.
O.k. so he's not on the top 40 list, but# 59 is not a bad number. O.J. Simpson wore #59 on the football field and he won a Heisman trophy.
even Hulk Hogan wants Tim to write for his reality show!!!! oh my God, you know what that means, tim is like, such a star!
