(S03E06/S03E07) A two-hour Prison Break? Now what did I do to deserve this? Well, it was really just two back-to-back episodes of Prison Break instead of a two-hour special. But still, the only thing better than one Prison Break episode is two Prison Break episodes.
And they were pretty good episodes to boot. While we didn't get to see the much-hyped escape from Sona, we did get some interesting new developments in the plot.
For those of you who thought that Michael's idea to escape from Sona in broad daylight was foolish, you were right. In fact, it was the daylight itself (or lack thereof) that foiled Michael's plans. Just as Michael and Whistler were climbing down the rope ladder and out to freedom, the glare was blocked by clouds and they had to scurry right back up. This was bad because they didn't get out of Sona. This was good because now Lechero can join them.
I have to admit, I was a little disappointed that they didn't get further in the escape. While I am happy to see that Michael is back in prison this season, I don't want him to stay there the whole time. I am excited to see what would happen when the brothers reunite (especially now that Michael's beloved Sara is gone). Will they stick together or go their separate ways?
But enough about what didn't happen tonight. Let's get to the major plot developments. Lincoln finally told Michael that Sara is dead. I can see that Michael would be upset with Lincoln for not telling him sooner but I'm on Lincoln's side. It's his son, not some random prison doctor who just happened to be both attractive and kind enough to help with an escape. Lincoln had to keep this from Michael if he thought that the information would affect the escape.
Mahone is out of Sona. One of his colleagues from the past season showed up surprisingly with a deal. If he tells all and helps shed some light on the ex-president, then he gets to do his time in an American prison (preferably one that carries his brand of highly-addictive painkillers). I wonder if his old friend from the bureau is going to double-cross him. Perhaps the other guy she brought with her will do the double-crossing. The latter seems possible. Maybe they will reinstate him in some way and have him track down the brothers or Whistler (when the sun finally aligns in the right way for Michael to break out, of course).
The biggest plot development, one could even say "twist," came at the very end. Susan B. Anthony's real name is Gretchen (cause Susan B. Anthony is just ridiculous). But that's not the plot twist, obviously. At the end, she had this cryptic conversation with James Whistler. He told her to give him four more days to get out. He also said that he could do what he needed to do despite the lost time. I wonder what he will do or how exactly he is aligned with her. Does Whistler work for the company? Perhaps neither Gretchen nor Whistler work for the company at all. Maybe they are trying to subvert the company. I'd be interested to read your comments on this.
I must point out one last thing. What is going on with the supporting characters on Prison Break? Seasons one and two spent so much time building up Belleck and T-Bag as viable enemies for the brothers. Belleck has been reduced from a prison-guard-turned-bounty-hunter to a worthless blob. He might have killed the French guy (although I don't think so) but other than that his only contribution to this episode was blubbering about Sara's death. Like he really cares? T-Bag has carved out a spot in Lechero's gang and hasn't done much since. Maybe he and Sammy will fight for the head position in Sona now that Lechero's power has been displaced?

i was surpised when one of the tower guards thought sophia was one of lechero's "girls" when he tried to put the moves on her...now i like to see sophie sneak up and knock "sister mary what's-her-name" out, and steal her disguise " nun habit" so that she can sneak in sona and rescue whistler but where does that leave poor mikey? after linc (finally) told him sara was dead he freaked out!.....like HE never saw it comming.

Of course Bellick cared about Sara. They were friends back at Fox River. They originally met at AA and Sarah got Bellick his job.
Lechero's name is Norman. He doesn't really look like a Norman.

@Larry: thought Bellick was the one who got Sarah the prison job.
But yeah, Bellick liked her at the beginning. He was hoping to date her way back when.

It seems, based on next week's previews, that Gretchen will be talking to the non-talking, note-writing bald company dude from last season.

I thought they were supposed to have escaped from Sona after the first 4-6 episodes. Now it looks like it's a complete rehash of season One, with them escaping at the last 15 seconds of the season finale.
LAME.

It seemed clear to me, with the twists at the end, that Whistler was the most likely suspect to have killed the french dude. He obviously has a diabolical side.
Does anyone think that Sarah might still actually be alive?? Perhaps she's going to be used for bait in some other scheme?
Finally, what the heck does Linc have in that cooler that's buried on the beach???

Wowww when i read this i was so shock: It's his son, not some random prison doctor who just happened to be both attractive and kind enough to help with an escape.
Fine it's his son but it was Michael girlfriend not just some doctor who help them like you just said. (I think you missed the first two seasons.) You can't take any side in this story, Linc son is not more IMPORTANT than Michael love. It still is someone life were taking about. Anyway it's just my point of view.

Clearly Gretchen was apologetic when talking to Whistler. Looks like it's him who's running things after all. Big disappointment that they failed to jump Sona. Looks like season-1 all over again. This sucks.

I think that Whistler killed Tyge. Because when I closely analyze, Tyge was killed with a knife behind the neck, the very same way they showed you Susan B was about to kill LJ.
And since Susan B. and Whistler know each other, they are most likely the same kind of people doing the same kind of "cleaning/killing" work.
And Tyge was obviously a threat to Whistler because he recognized Whistler from Nice.
I think it would have been all to easy for Michael to break out already... and I am kind of excited that Lechero is in for the escape ride right now.
I understand why Linc kept Sara's death from Michael. But at the same time, when i think about it, LJ is michael's nephew as well and as we know from first season Michael cares a lot for the people he loves, so even if Linc would have told Michael about Sara from the get go, Michael would know that he still has his nephew to save therefore I would not think it would have affected Michael motivation to escape... BUT like I said, I can understand that a Dad would have this reaction to protect his son.

Wow, so some of you liked those episodes, uh?!
I really didn't, what a piece of crap. I mean, two hours to go nowhere, they didn't even tried to escape, Susan's behavior keeps being more & more irrational, it all sucks.
I was never of fan of "re-doing season one" and sending Michael back behind bars, with a deadline for his escape or else someone he love sides, but they really are doing S1 all over again...
Awful, just awful.

You guys are huge re-res....the last two episodes were by far the best ones of the entire season and it will only get better! It's frickin sona....had they escaped already then you'd be bitching that they are wandering around aimlessly...and had they decided not to go back after the sun went down, they would have gotten shot and killed.
