Earlier we heard about Tina Fey joining the picket line in New York City, and now more celebs are joining the picket lines on the west coast.
The New Adventures of Old Christine star Julia Louis-Dreyfus joined picketers in front of Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA. She supports the writers and also knows that whatever happens with them might affect the Screen Actors Guild in the future (the union contract expires in 2008).
Meanwhile, late night talk show host Jay Leno handed out Krispy Kreme doughnuts to people on the picket line, saying that he's worked with writers for twenty years and he's "dead" without them. Other industry folks seen on the picket lines include James L. Brooks, Lost producers Carleton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, Brothers & Sisters star Ron Rifkin, and Ugly Betty star America Fererra.

Her husband also happens to be a writer--I think it would be quite grim in her household should she NOT support the WGA.

Yeah well you know... she's a billionaire through marriage. Just wanted to mention that. Make up your own mind.

Actually, Bash, she's a billionaire through birth:

Yeah, but she probably remembers what it was like to be a starving artist/writer/actor/performer....

What the hell does Julia Louis-Dreyfus' financial state have to do with her support of the writers? Whether or not she needs money has no bearing on what is right/fair and she obviously supports fair compensation for hard working people.
She also likes wearing shoes. Just wanted to mention that. Make up your own mind, if you have one.

What a blow to the writer's union, Jay Leno associating his lameness on them.

financial status has nothing to do with this. if Julia Louis-Dreyfus were merely concerned with money, then she could have spent her life being a rich slacker bum. creative success/drive is what has kept her working hard to be successful (and talented) all these years. there are loads of wealthy actors/writers/producers who continue to put in grueling hours and it clearly isn't so they can pay their rent (e.g. Larry David, Jerry Seinfeld...). if their careers were merely about money, they would have retired by now. anyone who thinks Julia Louis-Dreyfus's billionaire status has anything to do with her supporting the writers in their cause obviously doesn't have a creative spirit or understanding of the creative drive.
