We first told you about this back in August, and now the complete list is out: Turner Classic Movies is letting celebrities program the network for the month of November. Each celeb is picking three or four films, and here are a few of the more interesting choices (it started Thursday with Alfred Molina's picks).
Simpsons creator Matt Groening goes with an interesting mix of movies, including Way Out West (Laurel & Hardy) and I Was A Fugitive From A Chain Gang. Jack Klugman picks a flick he was in, Twelve Angry Men, but it's a great choice. Donald Trump gives a predictable list.
What would you pick? This is really hard for me, but if we're talking classic flicks, I'll go with It's A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Three Days of the Condor, and The Tin Star.

One movie I'd love to see again, since I haven't seen it since I was a kid, is THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH. I'd also like to see Jean Cocteau's ORPHEUS again. And one that no one has ever heard of, a Japanese spy film from the Swingin' Sixties, BLACK LIZARD. Also, the rarely screened comedy COLD TURKEY and the bizarro AMERICATHON (which I finally tracked down on VHS!). TCM would never let me program their channel!

North by Northwest, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (ok, I know it's hokey, but I can't help it - it's still one of my favorite-ever musicals), and Bringing Up Baby

Wow, ok, really only 3 or 4? Than I would have to say "The Thin Man", "The Big Chill", (shut up, I want to hear no disparaging comments, I wuv it), "It's a Wonderful Life", and "Harvey". They are all movies I simply have to watch whenever they're on, no matter what.

"Inherit the Wind" - Spencer Tracy and Fredric March chewing up the scenery with Gene Kelly egging them on. The courtroom scenes are some of the best ever filmed.
"The Producers" - Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, and Mel Brooks, all at their best.
"Raiders of the Lost Ark" - The greatest popcorn flick of all times with a great sense of fun that went missing in the sequels.
