Oh, I'm not talking about the sickening food challenge we see each season on the show, nor am I trying to dismiss the current season of Survivor: China. I'm talking Survivor 16! I'm talking the rumors, the realities, the casting, and the location.Yes, true Survivor believers, the news has been circulating. It's hard to keep secrets these days, so much more difficult than the days when Richard Hatch had won the first season and they knew for months, no one said a word. For me, it's better because knowing spoilers ahead of time whets my appetite -- for the show, not for the gross food challenge, of course. Rumors have been circulating it will be an All Stars version. Is it? If you want to know, read on.
Now, with the exception of one thing I know for sure -- a key fan favorite Survivor previous cast member has recently gone on a mysterious leave of absence from his workplace -- I've gathered this information from sources throughout the web. In particular, realitytvspoiler.com is a great source. I can't guarantee their accuracy, so please don't sue me if I'm wrong! But other spoiler sources have been coming up with much the same information. Adding what I know (as mentioned above), the main facts are true.
Here's the main skinny:
- Season 16 will indeed be another All Stars show.
- We'll have back-to-back seasons this year. Filming of 16 has started.
- The show returns to Palau, the location for season 10, one of the most popular seasons ever.
- My personal source information is -- Yau-Man Chan from Survivor Fiji recently started a leave of absence from his workplace. Of course, it could be unrelated to anything. (Yeah, suuure!)
- From Survivor 9: Vanuatu: Julie Berry (5th place finish, Jeff Probst's love interest? Hmmm), Eliza Orlins - 4th place, Ami Cusack - 6th place finish.
- From Survivor 10: Palau: Katie Gallagher - finished 2nd, Ian the Dolphin Trainer Dude Rosenberger - finished 3rd, Jenn Lyon - 4th place, Coby Archa - finished 9th.
- From Survivor 11: Guatemala: Fishmonger Lydia Morales - finished 4th, doorman Judd Sergeant IV - finished 6th, Gary Ex-Dallas Cowboy Hogeboom - finished 7th.
- From Survivor 12: Panama: Terry Dietz - finished 3rd, Cirie Fields - finished 4th, Shane Powers - finished 5th. (Please let Shane not be there, I beg of you!)
- From Survivor 13: Cook Islands: Ozzy Lusth (yay!) - finished 2nd, Parvati Shallow (boo) - finished 6th, Jonathan Penner - finished 7th.
- From Survivor 14: Fiji: Yau-Man Chan (but I knew that) - finished 4th, Michelle Yi - finished 10th.
- From Survivor 15: China: Courtney Yates (don't yell at me, I'm just the messenger) and James Clement.

I've been a fan of Survivor from the start, but honestly, are any of the cast members from these seasons "All Stars" in the way some prior seasons were?

Yeah... All-stars? Not so much. I've been a huge Survivor fan since the first series (with the exception of Vanuatu, when I took a break), but half of these names I can't even picture.
And why "boo" to Parvati and a swipe at Courtney? I think they're great (and looking forward to seeing more of Courtney in the current season!). It's Jonathan from Cook Islands that I was hoping to never see again.

Yeah, this is hardly an "All-Stars" cast. Terry, Ozzy and Yao-Man yes, but that's about it. It's dumb if they are really limiting it to season 9-15.

Hmmm
if it isn't Rupert, Richard Hatch or that woman with the foul mouth......or even Johnny Fairplay... I just can't remember any of these other survivors. I've seen all the shows ...but they all blend and meld together.....
Anyone else starting to find they all seem to fall into one great big melting pot of survivor..
Hell, I would watch just to see Rupert... of course he's not coming back on again to win another million..but for some reason I remember him clear as a bell.

I notice there's no winners listed, which is an interesting choice. It has to be deliberate, otherwise Tom from season 10 would have been there for sure.
And if there really are no winners in this new All-Stars, I guess that's a spoiler for Courtney and James, eh?

No previous winners? Are you kidding me? Tom is the greatest Survivor ever. Some of the names listed are some of the worst Survivors ever. Definitely not Survivor All-Stars. More like Survivor Rerun.

Ya. No kidding. It's a dumb idea. There just aren't enough "All-Star" caliber players to choose from in the more recent seasons. At least not for the casual viewer to recognize.

I agree that all stars should NOT be limited to only those who have been on since the previous all stars. OR, it should be something much more interesting. I'd like to see a version starring ONLY each and every second place winner, or, even better...each and every person who was voted out first from each season! Now that we're approaching 16 seasons, it seems like it would be so easy to have one and only one person from each season. And more exciting.
Also, didn't I read somewhere that the previous all star's psychologist said that this game should NOT be played by people with a pre-existing relationship? That was years ago but it stuck in my head. Especially after that whole thing with Kathy and that tattooed guy. (So long ago...it was mid season and there was a lot of crying.)

Ummmm, if that indeed is the real cast I will be highly disappointed. I have watched Survivor from season 1. I get that nobody from 1-8 can come back. And No winners, which is good. But I think Stephenie LaGrossa by far DESERVES to be there over half of them. As well as Rafe from season 11. Who came up with this cast? I really hope its not right. If I was going to cast All stars 2 it would be 9-There 3 they picked just add Twila.10-Replace Ian with Bobby Jon, Quitters dont get a second chance.11-Replace Lydia with Stephenie, Rafe and Cindy.12-Perfect!13-Add Becky.14-Replace Michelle add Dreamz.15-Replace Courtney with Amanda(if she dont win) if so which I hope then fill her with Jaime. There is no way in hell I would do All Stars without Stephenie. Take Ian, Lydia, Michelle and Courtney out of there-even Julie Berry is kinda questionable. Im keeping my fingers crossed for Steph.

No way Terry is on allstars 2, he's writing blog now on survivor 15's cbs blog
See.. I wish some of the casts are right, but jonathan, katie, n lydia, i don't wish them back on the show. On the other hand, twila deserves a second chance.

That list is bogus. Just saw one on the list yesterday (Nov 7) and spoke to one last weekend. Unless they allow them to bring their cellphones to the Island this time ha.

It's great to hear that there's another All-Stars season coming out, but really, what's up with this cast list? Even if it's not definite yet, I personally can't see why some of these people are coming back (no offense if any of them happen to read this). It's just a personal opinion here, but CBS seems to be bringing back ALL of the jerks and tag-alongs that weren't in the first All-Stars list. Really - Judd and Shane, and then Lydia...Well, I love that Ian, Ozzy and Yau-Man hold a good possibility of coming back, at least.
Too bad Rafe's not on that list; he was my favorite survivor ever. But hey, that list might not be final. I can hope.

I'm actually a fan of the list, although I doubt it is close to being a final draft.
Stephanie and Bobby Jon have already played the game twice (Palau and Guatamala) so I think they've had enough oppertunities. None of the original All Stars deserve to return because, frankly, many of them played the game terribly for the second time (Richard Hatch, Colby, Ethan to mention a few. And Rupert and Tom came across as a self righteous babies their second go around!)
The only swap I would make would be add Sarge or Rory(?) from Vanuatu at the expense of Gary (Guatamala).By the way Iam from Palau kicks butt.
