Do you love ABC's new schedule? Don't get too used to it.
October Road, the drama critics hate but viewers seem to love, returns to the ABC lineup on November 22 at 10pm, for one night only. Then it moves to Monday nights after Dancing with the Stars ends its season. The new Monday night schedule will be Samantha Who? at 9pm, Notes From The Underbelly at 9:30, and then October Road at 10pm. No word on what's going on at 8, but there might be a Dancing with the Stars spinoff going in that slot.
A Dancing with the Stars spinoff. FANTASTIC.
And that's not the only change coming to the network. Men In Trees is moving from its Friday at 10pm slot to Friday at 8pm. 20/20 will move into the 10pm slot, which is where I think it used to run if I remember correctly.

So basically what you're telling me is we're getting some sort of Dancing with the Retards from September to May?! There's the fall DWTS and then there's the spring DWTS and on top of that there's going to be a DWTS spin off?
Wow you americans are so freakin stupid it's incredible. Procedurals and reality shows, awesome going people, keep it up.
I swear those neilsen ratings boxes should be destroyed or put in the houses of more intelligent people.

And when quality programs like Boomtown and Jericho (if it's canceled again) fall by the wayside, then we can blame these viewers who keep up with shows like Dancing with the Schmucks.
When people bemoan the lack of quality TV, I go "look in the mirror, look in the mirror"...

Exactly. As much as I wished the educated, sophisticated tv viewers that bemoan the quality of TV were the majority (as it so often seems), we're not and never will be. Either continue to claw your way to half intelligent content, or learn to love Jackass and Tori & Dean and be alot happier.
Like Helmholtz in Brave New World, the feelies are so empty and yet we're so good at making them, they'll never end. And if we really think about it, that's really what's best for our planet, however depressing as it may be.

They reorganise all the shows I don't watch, but leave Pushing Daisies in its 8 o'clock Wednesday spot, while I'm fencing.

How about "Skeet Shooting with the Stars"? Where the star voted out one week has to launch the targets the following week.
Now that I'd watch.

The Dancing with the Stars spinoff is called Dance War. They announced it a couple of months ago:

The people who bemoan TV's downward spiral are in the minority--looking in the mirror wouldn't be a solution to a problem 'intelligent' TV watchers have with cancellations of good shows.

I don't care what the new show is called, I will think of it as "Spinning with the Stars" thanks to this posting. Honestly, with the advent of DVR and seasonal recording, it only matters to me when a network puts a show up against one that I already watch. So far, these moves haven't created any recording conflicts for me.
And as for stupid celebrity shows, don't forget "Fast Cars & Superstars." This was the "fantastic" show that let us watch Jewel beat Shatner on a NASCAR speedway.
The only one of these shows I miss is Battle of the Network Stars. Now that was a "reality" show worth watching.

Does this mean Men in Trees is doing poorly at 10 or does it mean it could do even better at 8 and have a better lead for Women's Murder Club?

I think it's funny how you just called yourself stupid, it's the funniest part of this thread.
"So basically what you're telling me is we're getting some sort of..."
Then you say:
"Wow you americans are so freakin stupid it's incredible."
You do know that the word "we're" includes yourself in your so-called "argument" or whatever the hell that was supposed to be? The one thing that you were correct on, you definitely "are so freakin stupid it's incredible."

I'm so sick of all of you who put down dancing with the stars. There are many choices among four different networks plus cable -- go watch something else and be thankful that something is pulling in 20 million plus ratings on network television -- and one that is nothing but pure unadulterated fun.

I watch shows like DWTS because there is no killing, no child abuse and no violence. When shows are on that I do not like, I read a book of my own choosing.
