(S03E04) Angela -- Is it always this way when you're together?

Bones -- Yes. Booth -- No.

Angela -- It's kinda hot.

Bones and Booth breaking up? Say it ain't so! Well, it ain't so (apologies to all of my English teachers for the double use of the word 'ain't'. Make that the triple use of the word). As long as Seeley and Temperance fill out a few blue books and let Doctor Lance Sweets find out what's going on between them, they'll be able to stay together and Bones will continue its success for years to come. Well, that's a relief.

Or, it ain't.

Apparently there are some underlying feelings between these two. Uh, you think?! I have to give Sweets the benefit of the doubt here since he doesn't know Booth and Bones like we do. Heck, I bet each of us could tell these two crazy people what their underlying feelings are. Yes, they would deny those feelings, like they did in this episode when confronted with that information, but you would know from their body positions and the look in their eyes what they were really thinking. But, I'll give both of them the time to figure it all out.

While there were only a few scenes at the therapist's office, they really made the episode. In the very beginning you saw Bones taking a neutral stance while Booth was his usual stand-offish when it comes to a quasi-medical professionals. And, speaking about stand-offish, what happened to Dr. Gordon Wyatt, who was Booth's previous therapist? I really liked him. Anyway, with this new therapist things are not going well, In fact, by the end of the episode it's Bones who lashes out at Sweets and his analysis.

Lance Sweets is an interesting therapist. He's awful young -- only 22. He already has his doctorate. Yet, while he's spouting all of his analytical gobbledy-gook, he can turn on a dime and say to Booth "Dude, you, like, arrested her father." He's also a bit scared of Booth; something that Wyatt never was. I don't have a final opinion about the young man. If he returns in future episodes my feeling may solidify.

So far, this season of Bones has yet to disappoint. Even though Booth and Bones' relationship is in a bit of a flux I am really enjoying their interactions. They had some really good ones this week as the topic of the environment popped up. The best conversation ended with Bones mentioning a study that said alligators who swam in pesticide-filled waters had smaller testicles than those who didn't. As Booth tends to hear what he wants to hear, he translated that to be that Bones said he had a small penis.

There's been quite a bit of talk about Booth's manhood recently, mostly from Bones. I know that Temperance has frustrated Seeley to no end since the beginning of the series, but it looks like she's found something that purposely pisses off Booth. At least she seems to be doing it on purpose because she gets that look of slight amusement on her face every time she mentions something like the alligator study or understanding the concept of 'pony play'.

Moving on to the squints; I do enjoy it when they get out of the Jeffersonian once in awhile. I loved Jack's reaction when he found out that Bones and Booth were going to investigate a compost field, and Angela's little confrontation with one of the murder suspects was entertaining as well. For someone as sweet as Angela is, she has a look and a voice that could stop you cold and make you pee your pants in fear. I would like to see Zack back out in the field. Since he came back from Iraq he's been spending all of his time at the Institution.

This week's mystery was pretty good. I had a feeling that it was either someone at the compost pile or someone from the victim's family that killed the founder of a Whole Foods-type of supermarket. I never thought it was the victim's wife, played by Denise Crosby, who will always be known to us dweebs as Tasha Yar of Star Trek: The Next Generation. For awhile there I thought that the farmer's wife was the killer. She seemed so sweet and innocent that I could just see her throwing the victim into an oven and cooking him. I was thrown for a loop when it was revealed that the second victim was not Mr. Curtis' lover, but his daughter from another relationship.

Next week . . . Cam dresses up as Catwoman. Only two words to say about that: Me. Ow.
