AOL has an interesting slide show over at their TV section, about the cast of M*A*S*H and what they're up to now.
Of course, we know what happened to a few of them. McLean Stevenson and Larry Linville both passed away, and Alan Alda almost became President of the United States. But I wasn't aware that Wayne Rogers wasn't acting much anymore and had made a ton of money in the business world and was on the board of directors of a Fortune 500 company and appears on a FOX business show, Cashin' In.
And what has the rest of the cast been up to? Has Gary Burghoff (Radar) become an astronaut? Did Jamie Farr (Klinger) join the U.S. Olympic bobsledding team? Is Loretta Swit (Hot Lips) running a cheese shop in Wisconsin?
The answer to all of those questions, by the way, is no, but it's interesting to note what a few of the stars are up to now. It's also great to see that they didn't just focus on the main cast. We get to see what Allan Arbus (Dr. Sidney Freeman) and Rosalind Chao (Klinger's wife towards the end of the show) have been doing recently.
Who's surprised you the most out of the list as to where they are now? Let's hear your thoughts in the comments.

I didn't see the show, but I know that Gary Burghoff sometimes buys fish from the Stop & Shop near his town. I sold it to him when I worked there in college. He wasn't very nice.

in reponse to your opinion that Gary Burgoff wasn't nice, it may have been that you asked him for an autogragh. I know for a fact he is vey nice as I have known him all of my life. He jusr doesn't like to give out autograghs. But he will shake your hand.

I'm a little amused that Mike Farrell's major work as an advocate for abolition of the death penalty doesn't merit even a peep. I guess that's not as important as mentioning his recent DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES gig.

I can't believe they left out all the work Burghoff does with animals - I met him about 6 years ago when he was hosting an event geared towards pet adoption.
He even starred in a syndicated TV series, "Pets: part of the family" for a few years.

I was recently in Las Vegas. There are billboards all over town advertising a show featuring Chuck Woolery, Bob Eubanks and Jamie Farr. When I saw those signs, I actually thought to myself, "I wonder what happened to the whole MASH gang." It's really nice to know that someone at AOL was reading my mind to give me an answer. Seriously, this is like checking up on family for me. I ate dinner in front of MASH reruns during my entire childhood.

M A S H was and remains the most desired of TV shows.
Your child could watch it and you did not have to worry about it being off color.
Also, an older person such as I, vet of WW II, could, and did, enjoy it. Still do ejoy re-runs.
Please keep re-runs coming back. It will never go out of style.

I met Gary Burghoff a few years back when he was doing a play on our college campus. He was heading for his dressing room to do a quick change to took the time to stop and say hello and comment on the long distance between the stage and dressing room. I was still there at intermission and he took a few minutes to stop and chat and when he heard a little girl who was taking music lessons was wanting to meet him, he took the time to go and sit down and talk to her and sign an autograph. He could have just kept to himself in the dressing room and rested, but he spent most of the time talking to me and to her.
Alan Alda also hosted Scientific American Frontiers on PBS.
Thanks for the update on the cast! I always loved M*A*S*H

Boy o boy, I really miss MASH ! There wasn't an episode that was missed. I loved ALL the actors. Just a few minutes ago I watched another of many MASH's. One of the dreams I have is finding ALL of them together and me in the middle, listening to their stories.

I REMEMBER WATCHING MASH BEFORE IT BECAME POPULAR. MY ONLY PROBLEM WAS THEIR LIBERAL ATTITUTE. WHICH ON A TALK SHOW WITH THE WRITERS AND MANY OF THE PLAYERS THEY AMMITTED THAT THEIR SLANT WAS GEARED AGAINST VIET NAM, NO KIDDING, I KNOW IT'S ONLY A TV SHOW BUT NO WAY WOULD THEIR ANTI AUTHORITHY WOULD HAVE BEEN TOLERATED. I KNOW, SERVED IN VN 13 MONTHS "GO MARINES"
