Bicoastal, that is. Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will be one busy guy next week: he's going to host two different shows on two different coasts.
Kimmel will be filling in for Reege on Live with Regis & Kelly the week of October 22 (Philbin will be on vacation), and then he's going to jump on a plane and go to Los Angeles tape his show (side note: I wish they'd get rid of the "live" in the title since it's not done that way anymore). Then he'll come back to New York to host Regis & Kelly the next morning.
Kimmel is either very ambitious or hasn't quite thought this all the way through. I wonder why he doesn't just move his late night show to ABC in New York for the week? Sort of like when Conan goes to San Francisco on David Letterman went on the road. Should be an interesting gimmick for the week though.

What do you mean Regis isn't live anymore? It's still live in NYC isn't it? I moved away two years ago but when I lived up north it was live at 9 am in NYC. It was a big deal when Today show added the 3rd hour because it went up against Regis. Regis is recorded Live in front of a live audience... just like Letterman. Just because you aren't seeing it live in your local area doesn't mean it wasn't recorded live. It just means it's not editted down to fit the hour.
So did they change things after Regis had the by pass surgery or am I missing something?

It all depends on the station in your market. For instance, in Baltimore, Reege and Kelly are on the same channel as TODAY, so the Baltimore station plays the show an hour later via tape delay. In D.C., the show is on an ABC affiliate and I believe is carried live after GMA. So, the show goes out live but it's now up to the affiliate to decide when it plays (and I would assume the show was never broadcast live on the West Coast unless it came on at 6AM).

c'mon...Jimmy is the most underrated-ist late night host on TV.
I even DVR hs show ever night so I wont miss a monolog. I may even DVR Regis and Kelly that week too.
