Well, it looks like celebrities don't always get off with just a slap on the wrist (wait...that sounds rather dirty, but you know what I mean).
24 star Kiefer Sutherland is actually going to jail for 30 days, as part of his plea deal regarding a DUI arrest in Los Angeles in September. He was coming home from a FOX fall season party. He's going to jail for having a blood alcohol level over the limit, but the second charge of DUI was dismissed (not sure what the difference is there).
The timing is good though: the sentencing will be announced on December 21, the day 24 takes a their break. He could actually go to jail for longer than that, six months, if the judge wants him in there longer for violating his probabtion from a 2004 arrest. Merry Christmas Kiefer! Maybe the Prison Break guys can help him get out, and they can film it for another reality show.

Liar. He's going to jail for 7 hours. Then he gets out. I guarantee it.
Stupid actor.

I guess you were wrong - Kiefer's doing 48 days, not 7 hrs.
Guess he should've been richer/cuter/younger/stupider/more famous.

Way to show your compassion. This post wasn't only flippant and unnecessarily harsh, it shows the lack of humanity you have Mr. Sassone.
I guess you are such an example of perfection as to post such high-handedness like this.
Hey - Merry Christmas to you too! By any chance, o you know what this "Christmas spirit" is really supposed to be about?
I'm asking because you don't exemplify it.

I, too, can feel the synergy of a Prison Break/24 crossover episode.
It's hard to feel a lot of compassion for an actor who was already on probation for a previous offense and then subsequently got arrested for his 4th DUI. Almost seems like the Tom Sizemore career path....

Seven hours when drunk driving where he could have killed someone?!?! Please, you only get the hard time for jay walking! I say he's in jail no longer than 4 hours.

Yeah, I agree. If killing someone while driving drunk is vehicular manslaughter, isn't drunk driving attempted manslaughter? Why is compassion necessary, Dave? (Plus, you know, it's not like he said he hoped Kiefer would die or anything -- he just made a couple quips. So it wasn't even harsh.)

Actually, MSNBC.com is reporting that he can't be released any sooner than 48 days (30 for DUI and 18 for breaking parole) although they can be served in two chunks, with the 18 days starting in December.

Amazing how Lindsey Lohan has 2 DUI's and gets 1 day in jail, and Keifer Sutherland has one DUI and gets 30 days. And who said the justice system favors celebrities? It's not that it favors celebs - it only favors the young, pretty ones.

Kay, it's not that, it favors women.
The police they came out and said if you drink and drive in LA and are a woman you will only go to jail for about an hour because the jails are so full.

And what makes women drunk behind the wheel less dangerous than men?
Oreo - Unless you're comment was tongue-in-cheek, which is hard to discern in writing, it's a double standard that doesn't make sense, as the potential for bodily harm is the same, regardless of whether the driver is male or female.
Anyway, not a policy which will be solved in the pages of Tvsquad.com!

I just find it funny that almost 1% of all US-citizens are in jail, more than in any other first wold country. As if jailtime is the answer to everything.

The obvious question is what happens to "24" if its star is ordered to remain incarcerated longer than 30-45 days?
Maybe this is why they're bringing back Tony -- they could have Tony take over for Jack (who goes missing for several hours) until the season finale.

Kay I'm not joking.
The police during the Paris thing came out and said that their jails are so full that women only have to spend half their sentence in jail at the most.
Of course it's a double standard, but that's the way it is. I think we should let the druggies out of jail and and then refill them with the drunk drivers.
