So, for those of you who think New York from Flavor of Love and I Love New York is an obnoxious, crazy, bitchy windbag, you needn't look any further to see the reason why. In the case of New York and her mother Sister Patterson, the apple truly does NOT fall far from the tree.Sister Patterson is a detestable bigoted old woman who tries to achieve celebrity by living vicariously through the dysfunctional love-life of her daughter. And because her daughter's antics on VH1's reality show overshadowed her own on last season, I guess Sister figured she should ramp up her despicable behavior to prevent her footage from being left on the cutting room floor.
Audiences got their first taste of Sister Patterson's new improved vile self last night on the premiere of I Love New York 2. So, let's see. Where to begin with my rant about this woman? (I admit this is a rant and I hope that Sister Patterson redeems herself somewhat so that I can recant these opinions sometime in the future.) But, the premiere was last night, so I'll deal with that.
Aside from asking Wolf to show her his penis (eww...in so many ways, eww) and taking one of New York's cast-offs for herself, Sister Patterson's biggest offense tonight was clearly her treatment of Midget Mac. Upon first seeing this little person, Sister screamed to the high heavens. I, for one, had no idea that little people were so scary. After warning her daughter about how she shouldn't pick Midget Mac, Sister Patterson deigned to converse with him at the mixer later on in the show.
I thought this conversation might show a more human side of this woman and prove that the dramatic scream was just for the cameras. Although how she thought screaming at the sight of a little person would be a funny or entertaining moment of the show is beyond my understanding. In her conversation with Midget Mac, she explained that she had never seen a little person before (yeah, right) and it was like seeing a forty-foot giant. Yep, I bet that made him so much less offended. She did apologize to Midget Mac which struck me as a slight show of tolerance. However, when it came time to deliberate as to which five guys would leave the I Love New York mansion, Sister Patterson vehemently argued that her daughter send Midget Mac home. Her reasoning for this choice hadn't changed.

I'll admit that I watch a lot of things that people would consider to be crap, but I can't begin to fathom why this show (and others like it) are even on the air. What kind of person would find this entertaining? These people are vile, repulsive, and seem to love that about themselves. Sad, really. And even more sad that there seems to be a market out there for it.

I was disappointed in hearing a good "Christian" like Sister Patterson act so disgusted when she saw Midget Mac. Did her G-d not create him too? She also goes on and on about the wealth among the guys she chose for New York. I thought greed was a sin? Hypocrite.

I agree that Sister Patterson is a vile, hypocritical bitch. I was appalled at the way this supposedly "Christian" woman was prejudicial, ignorant, and openly cruel to Midget Mac.
To her credit Tiffany looked beyond Mac's different abilities, and overrulled her mother's disgusting prejudice by refusing to disqualify him until there was a reason other than his disabilities to do so.

Kristin, you missed the whole point about WHY SP asked Wolf to show his penis? If you're going to claim how big it is, then you better be willing to show it off. I think she was more trying to put him in his place, rather than actually see his dick. And, really, she's doing nothing different than last season... she's there to rip the guy's confidence and cut through their bravado, basically, she is the fan's voice in the whole show. Give the woman a break and enjoy the ride!

Above all else...................she claims to be a pastor and acts the way she does. I would hope that the patrons of her church have confronted her regarding her actions on the show. And, I doubt it is just for tv..................it is her. And it is disgusting.

this woman is so nasty, what a christian that one is ! the guy would got kicked off last season (for saying that she was an amped up fake christian hit that nail on the head) I'm surprised that the little peoples' foundations aren't all over her for that one !!no wonder "new york has so many problems finding and keeping a man, with a mama like that I'd run so fast the door would blow off, she 's probably the one who gave "tiffany" so many issue's to her own identity,if she does find a good man he'll still never be enough for the old bat flying around in their business! What a christian she takes a man ,that she wanted for her daughter 2 for 1 sale huh ? well new york I wish ya luck, but girl you & your mama really need to something with those fake assed nails,at least you... we know mama needs them to claw men up with ! but girl they are nasty looking !

So, some people are pointing out that Sister's behavior is just *part of the show* (even that she is the voice of the fans). I just can't agree. I have to stand by what I said about her in the post. She is disgusting. And, if VH1 is staging the show to a certain degree (which I think they are), who's the genius that thought it would be entertaining for Sister Patterson to scream at the sight of a midget?
If this keeps up, I may not watch anymore. And that's just nonsense because low-brow VH1 reality shows are just my favorites. But there's a big difference between low-brow and completely below-the-belt amusement.

It just goes to show you how people who think they are a better person than everyone else, usually are not. Don't act like it was a surprise. I could see right through the act. The more someone tries to prove something to be the truth, the further away from the truth you get .

I myself am I Little Person and it amazes me how the MTV corporation that is so "politically correct" can demean someone. Everytime he is in an interview they only show the top part of his head to remind you that he's short. Also, the name "Midget Mac" sends the wrong message when dwarfism specials that have aired as well as "Little People Big World" have constantly explained how the term "midget" is demeaning. Instead of educating people about diversity, the show is exploiting this person as a mere carnival act. "Midget Mac" is not blameless though, he needs to understand that he's setting a bad stereotype for all of us.

I encourage you to write to VH1 and to complain about the rudeness and cruelty with which "Sister Patterson" treated him. In my opinion, the most offensive of all the jokes and ribs toward Mac was the bald-faced cruelty and stupidity of "Sister Patterson's" objections to Mac's face that she was shocked to see him, and this was as understandable as being shocked and crying out (she said) if she saw a four year old giant. That woman deserves a thump on the head, or worse, for her stupidity! As a mother of a severely disabled child, I urge you to join me in writing VH1 to complain.

I think that the show is border line retarded and needs to get off the air but the only thing that I actually like about it is seeing the mom get so pissed that her daughter doesn't pick the ones she wants. The only show like this that had actually worked was Rock of Love with Bret Micheals. So audios SISTA P

I am speechless!! I don't know why I expected anything different from sp. First of all I am almost sure that this little farce of the mother/daughter thing was brought out in the light after last season when they were exposed!! "Tffany" was on a radio station and lied about going to a certain college!! Just so happens that the radio dj went to that college and said there is no such major as the one "Tiffany" was claiming to have taken at that particular college!! Also that "SP" is NOT her real mother!! By the way! Hold up! She is so "Christian??" Where is her husband?? When you are truly a Christian and living your life correctly in the eyes of God you don't have to tell the world!! They will see the shine in and on you!! I hope they get it together and there is no more seasons of this mess and PLEASE! God forbid VH1 DO NOT GIVE THAT UNGODLY WOMAN SP A SHOW OF HER OWN B/C THAT IS WHERE IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS GOING!! UGH!! CAN WE GET SOME QUALITY TV?? PLEASE???

Sister Patterson, it just so happens, is a good Christian. Her discrimination of Midget Mac and other behavior of low moral character is exactly the kind of behavior "good Christians" have been perpetrating for years. History doesn't lie.

The real tragedy is what SP has done to poor Tiffany. Tiffany hasn't any real girlfriends, and has trust issues. She is confused and insecure. Is it any wonder when she has a mother like that? SP is evil, characterless, cruel, petty, vile, materialistic, and a social snob.
It is also obvious that SP is an emotional parasite who is exploiting her daughter, is a corrupting influence, and has her poor daughter in a chokehold of emotional blackmail.
The most telling thing in all of the shows with New York was when Tiffany had narrowed her final choice down between Tailor Made, Punk, and Buddha. Punk was clearly not the right person for her even though he is adorable. Tailor Made is a sniveling, characterless, parasitic, unstable person. Buddha is a real man, a good match for Tiffany and was Tiffany's only hope to have a life away from the stiffling and choking influence of her controlling and toxic mother.
The most telling point in all the shows came when SP was seething with anger because Tiffany had followed her heart and kept Buddha in the running. SP, knowing perhaps on some level that Buddha is a real man of character and strength, and a person who would not cave in to her manipulations, got up, and said in a most sinister and hateful voice to Tiffany: "You are dead meat girl!" and she walked off.
My heart went out to Tiffany, and I hoped she would go for her only chance for a life of her own, and pick Buddha, but because of the wrong sort of fear she went for her mother's pick, and for a man who ultimately has nothing of substance to offer. In having made the wrong choice, she can carry on as mother's dysfunctional and exploitable little girl but she will never be truly happy or free.
Time and again I saw New York, and I would see SP in the picture, and I'd say to myself "What is her mother doing there!" Tiffany is a grown woman with potential, but her mother treats her like a five year old child and has made her an emotional cripple. My heart goes out to Tiffany. She wants to love and defend her mother even though SP is an appalling excuse for a mother and a despicable human being.
If Tiffany had done the right thing and chosen Buddha, she could have had a life of her own, and a long, prosperous, and happy life. Because she took the other road, and chose the one her mother wanted, she has condemned herself to dysfunction, frustration, and unhappiness.
Buddha is a fine, strong, and stable man. He was sincere, and caring, and Tiffany messed her life up royally by letting him slip through her fingers. The I Love New York shows were a train wreck, and a sad thing to witness.
