He hasn't even made his debut on the show yet (he starts tonight at 8 on NBC), but Isaiah Washington says that NBC has already said they might want to spinoff his Bionic Woman character because "there's been some relative excitement about my presence."
First of all, who the hell talks like that about themselves? There's been excitement about his presence? Um, OK. Second, Washington is only slated to do five episodes so far, and I think that if NBC really thought he was great then they would want to sign him to a full-time contract on Bionic Woman before taking the chance of spinning him off on his own show.
On the show, Washington plays Antonio Pope, a Special Forces member who is assigned to help and teach Jaime Sommers about all things bionic. Hopefully he can teach her to be more interesting than Katee Sackhoff.

Slow down NBC, please. You've had one highly rated but poorly reviewed episode. Let's not count our circuits before they spark. Make sure this show works. Don't forget Bionic Woman was still beaten in the ratings by a Grey's Anatomy spin-off.
And aren't we still supposed to be mad at Isaiah Washington? I don't think I got the memo saying we like him now.
Frankly, I'd rather Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) get her own spin-off.

You know, Isaiah Washington is one hell of an actor, but ever since the whole T. R. Knight brouhaha I just can't stand to hear him talk. In a recent interview about this possible series he was actually bragging about how the his disgusting actions on the Grey's set has led to so many opportunities for him. If that's true, shame on Hollywood.

WOW. Does this guy need more room? I mean his role hasn't even been introduced?? I too loved him and his role on 'Grey's Anatomy'. I too thought maybe he was treated a lil unjustly, but after his reaction to his 'letting go' and the public statements he as made don't you think a does of humbleness might be warranted.
Yes, I think I would wait until your new show has some noted success before you start talking about your spinoff!!

Isaiah Washington is so full of himself. His conceit was painfully obvious during his meltdown on the Grey's set, attempted damaged control, subsequent firing & whining on any show that would book him. It now reaches stratesphoric proportions as he claims he's worthy of a spin-off before his first episode on the show even airs.
If his ego gets this show cancelled, NBC only has them selves to blame for giving him the role.

I don't follow grey's anatomy, so i don't know what he did or didn't do on their set. What I can say is let's make sure Bionic lasts 22 before we consider spinoffs. That said, how is NBC's sophomore drama Heroes doing in the ratings?

I think Isaiah Washington is living in his own alternate universe. It's the only way I can think to explain the level of his conceit and the size of his ego. What network is going to build a series around someone who has a proven track record as a lying homophobe with a bad temper who has delusions of anger. This is the kind of crap that makes me want to stop watching the show out of spite. If Bionic Woman doesn't last I won't feel sorry for him at all.

I hope he doesn't think he is the next $6 million dollar man! Yikes! Poor bastard really does need everyone to think he is the shit, doesn't he? Must have very low self esteem under all that bravado.
And, hey! The best thing about the Bionic Woman was Katee Sackhoff. I wish she had been the lead. I'd follow that woman anywhere.

What's the big deal ? Everything he said about T.R. Knight is true . T.R. Knight is gay and a f***t , so what's the problem here . He was only stating the obvious .
I hate T.R. Knight and his gay ways because if not for T.R's love for man on man sex , Isaiah would have never had been looking for another job in the first place.

What ugliness? T.r. Knight is gay ...and all Isaiah did was state the obvious . Maybe T.r. Knight should have tried out for the Will and Grace show since he's too sensitive to cut it amongst straight people.

Agreed that Katee Sackhoff should be first in line for the spin off. She makes even a cruel murderess adorable. Why should Washington be rewarded over and over for his ugliness when somebody like Katee Sackoff who has paid her dues, works hard, is incredibly entertaining, and does not say hateful things gets passed over?

Addressing #10 & #11 comments. Maybe you are unaware that the word Mr. Washington used is offensive to some folks.
This is a wonderful country, and people may speak the words they please, however just like I don't want to hear any GD's at the oscars, I don't find it seemly to hear Mr. Washington's word or any other racial epithet. Why be so coarse?

Ok Isaiah Washington is very full of himself these days, but who knows if it isn't all bravado and a knee jerk reaction to how he was treated on Grey's. I have nothing against T.R. Knight, but I was surprised that they sacrificed their storyline for politics.

I know we're not supposed to feed the trolls, but here we go...
#14, if you want to understand why Mr. Washington's comments about T.R. Knight were so offensive, let's reverse the situation. Say some cast member on Grey's kept calling Washington a n****r. It this hypothetical person pointing out something obvious? Of course. Is that word appropriate? Absolutely not. In the way that n****r is an epithet about blacks, f****t is an epithet to homosexuals.
If you can't get at least show courtesy to your coworkers, you don't deserve the job. Mr. Washington repeatedly used an epithet that shows his intolerance towards those who are of certain dispositions.
Face it, we Americans live in a time and a culture that respects diversity in all forms (well, most forms anyway). If you can't get past a person's sexuality, then you need to get off the tubes and go outside for a minute. Just remember to bring your blinders so you don't have to see anyone who's different from you. Wait, is that you Mahmoud?
Oh, and don't get lost while you're out there; you don't want to miss school tomorrow do you? 3rd grade is such an important time in a person's life. Maybe you can go and learn something new tomorrow. Like how to not express unwarranted fear of others. Just ask your teacher. Unless you think they might be gay too...
(Note: I've self-censored because I take no pleasure in using those words, and I also don't want others to be uncomfortable seeing them in full. And #14, I'm neither black, nor gay, so don't even think about going down that road in your response...)

I am black and heterosexual and it unnerves me to no end for people to compare the N-word to the word F-G; there is absolutely no comparison. Some racist white person derived the word N-word from name of the country Niger in Africa, where they were buying slaves and it became widly known to refer to African slaves who bought, sold, beaten, raped, and killed by white slavemasters. Gays in America have NEVER NEVER had the plight in this country that Blacks have--Jim Crow, Lynchings, etc. Yes, Gays are discriminated against, but their history pales in comparison to ours. Now on to Isaiah, while his ego may be huge, it is warranted. He is a superb actor and far better than T.R. Knight. and by the way, he wasn't referring to Knight when he said F-G; he was referring to Patrick Demsey. Let it go already. We'll see how many of you gay supporters will support the gay community when it really counts and that's at the polls when we elect our politicians who decide whether or not gays can marry legally and have other civil rights.

Give him his own show called "I Hate F*gs and You Should, Too" and be done with it. The ratings will show what people really think of him. He should go crawl under a rock and find a career that doesn't depend on people being able to stand to watch him act or speak. I've yet to watch "Bionic Woman" on my TiVo, and he's the main reason. I'm not sure I'll bother.

Number 16 was just looking for an excuse to show their evil racist side and spew it out on this site . No need to make the N word comparision ...just deal with the fact Isaish called T.r. a f***t.
Isaish was quite right ...but number 16's comments were way off base and racist. I know I shouldn't feed the trolls but I wasn't about to let this racists' comments go without something being said .
