ABC and NBC both did very well on the first real Sunday night battle of the fall season, tying for the top spot in the 18-49 demographic. ABC had the season premiere of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (two episodes), Desperate Housewives, and Brothers & Sisters, while NBC had Football Night In America and the Giants/Eagles game.
CBS was third, with a special 90 minute 60 Minutes that started late because of the afternoon football game, and new episodes of Cold Case and Shark. FOX was next with repeats of King of the Hill and The Simpsons and then new episodes of The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy, and American Dad. The CW was next, of course, with new episodes of The CW Now and Online Nation and repeats of Gossip Girl and America's Next Top Model.
In households, ABC was first, CBS second, and NBC third. In the important 18-49 demographic, ABC and NBC were tied for first, followed by CBS and FOX, who also tied. Here are all the numbers by the hour.
