TV Obits: Evans, Maxwell, Manulis, Humbard, Fein

  • Lois Maxwell: She is probably best known for playing Miss Moneypenny in all the James Bond movies up until Roger Moore's last (A View To A Kill), but she also appeared in several TV shows, including The Avengers, UFO, The Saint, Alfred Hitchcock Presents (80s version), Zero One, Danger Man, One Step Beyond, and Adventures in Rainbow Country. She died of cancer at age 80 in Australia.
  • Martin Manulis: He was a producer best known for Playhouse 90, the classic 50s drama anthology series that aired such great teleplays as "Requiem For A Heavyweight," "The Days of Wine and Roses," and "The Comedian." In the 70s he was West Coast Director of the American Film Institute. He died at age 92 in Los Angeles.

  • Michael Evans: He played Col. Douglas Austin on The Young and the Restless and guest starred on many shows over the years, including I Spy, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Mannix, Rat Patrol, Combat, Hunter, Hart to Hart, Charlie's Angels, The Tony Randall Show, The Bob Newhart Show, and many others. He also starred in the film Bye, Bye Birdie and a stage production of Gigi. He died at age 87 in Woodland Hills, CA.

  • Rex Humbard: The TV evangelist, who was on TV every Sunday from 1953 to 1999, died at age 88 in Lantana, FL.

  • Joel Fein: He was an Emmy-winning sound man for many TV shows, including Dawson's Creek, Nash Bridges, Early Edition, The Critic, Courthouse, and several National Geographic specials. He also did sound on many films, including Spartacus, The Bridge on the River Kwai, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Buddy Holly Story, Blade Runner, Back to the Future, Part 2, and many others. He died at age 63 in Wichita, KS.
