Remember how NBC and Apple had a big fight over iTunes pricing? First NBC said they were going to pull their episodes from the service because Apple wasn't giving them enough flexibility in pricing. Then Apple accused NBC of wanting to charge $4.99 per episode. And finally, NBC said they didn't need Apple anyway, and went over to Amazon, where the network offered up the pilot episodes of four new shows for free.
Yeah, well it turns out you can buy those shows from Amazon, or you can buy at least two of them from iTunes. It turns out you can buy episodes of Chuck and Journeyman from iTunes. Both shows premiere this week on NBC, and have been available for a few weeks from Amazon Unbox.
Perhaps the most intriguing twist to this story: You can buy a season pass for Chuck for $40. But there are only 13 episodes listed. Either there will be more episodes coming soon, or NBC/iTunes is charging a ridiculously high rate for each episode. Of course, you can always save some money by buying episodes one at a time, which is really just not the way things should work.

Maybe they're available on iTunes because both shows aren't actually produced by NBC. Chuck is done by Warner Bros., and Journeyman by Fox.

What really cracks me up about this story is how much screen time Apple's computers got during Chuck. Both his home machine and the "secrets" machine were Macs.

NBC and Apple have until sometime in December to work out any problems they have. I doubt we are going to see NBC shows disappear from the ITMS anytime soon.

#4 is 100% right. It's not shows playing on NBC that are affected, it's any show produced by NBC Universal.
