"Clusterfuck to the White House": With OJ Simpson going nuts once more and Hillary Clinton getting all up on that health care business again, the press can't let go of this weird flashback to 1994. In regards to Tucker Carlson's daddy's cane collection article from Forbes, I'm always amazed when Daily Show digs up stuff like that. Come on, the article was from 1996. I'm just waiting for the day that Daily Show digs up someone's diary entry from junior high or something. There is no escaping!
Senior Black Correspondent Larry Wilmore stopped by to share his thoughts on the all-new OJ Simpson craziness. Apparently, it's okay for black people to think OJ is guilty now because there's really no point in defending him anymore. As much as I like Wilmore, I always enjoy his stuff better when he's working with John Oliver. Get on that next joint-assignment, guys.
The night's guest was General Wesley Clark, A Time to Lead: For Duty, Honor and Country. No, he's not running for president, General Clark just wanted his face on another book -- I mean, he wanted to write a book about America. The interview was good, but I don't think it was anything we haven't heard already: The Iraqis have lost faith in the Americans, cliche sports metaphors, same old, same old.
Jon/Stephen: Stephen Colbert didn't harm a baby. FYI. Oh, that reminds me: I stopped by the supermarket today to pick up the current issue of Vanity Fair, which has a couple of really lovely pictures of Mr. Colbert wearing some normal-guy clothes and giving his Brooks Brothers garb a break. Unfortunately, the cover has Nicole Kidman pulling her shirt open ("Nicole Kidman Bares All!"), so I felt a bit sleazy. Moment of Zen: Why do we care about OJ? Isn't there a war or something going on? Whatever.

I think they used an old article because that was about the time Tucker was having children without health insurance. Sure, he claimed it was his choice to be without health insurance. But if something had gone wrong and his child had needed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of medical care, Tucker's daddy would have been able to save the day. A newer article would have only shown that Tucker's family is wealthy now, not that they also were wealthy when he was choosing to have children without health insurance.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm missing something, but what is "fun" about the student at the Kerry speech getting dragged away and Tasered? I and all the people I know were very disturbed by that clip. Was it staged? A joke? If so, it was in very poor taste.

Btw I was at the Kerry event (I go to UF), and it was wrong what the police did, but at the same time I admit I wanted the guy to be thrown out of the place...he was an attention-whore (all the videos on the net don't show the incident before the guy asked the questions).
