I stopped by my local alehouse with some friends the other night, to hoist a few and talk about the upcoming Fall TV season. Imagine my amazement when, lo and behold, what should appear on the bar in front of me? Coasters for the CW's upcoming comedy / sci-fi show, Reaper.
This is probably the first time I've seen any sort of a non-sports show advertised in a bar in a way that wasn't a poster. Sure, you'll see a lot of Monday Night Football cutouts featuring girls holding pitchers and a lot of "Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?" captions all over the place, but a show like this? It's a first in my book. However, it only makes sense if you also have a drink based on your show. You gotta have something to put it on.
Anyhow, the coasters had some decent artwork on them (billboards with the same images are all over Los Angeles), but the reverse side really caught my eye. It's a nametag that says "Hell, My Number Is." So, you can pass this down the bar to that cutie you've been eyeing, just to show him or her that you're concerned for their everlasting soul.

They also made a reaper drink for some of the bars. So you should have ordered that!

Back in November of 2005, I was at a restaurant in Santa Monica with some friends and we had coasters touting 'Supernatural', so it's not a new idea. But the nametag gimmick on the other side is a nice touch.

Oooh, nice eye Bash. I hadn't seen that. Updated the post with the info. Thanks for leaving the biting remark aside, or else I'd have to down a few Reapers to drown the pain.

Article on the Reaper drink.
P.S.: show looks pretty good from what I've seen. Looking forward to it next week.
