With all the emotional goings on at TV Squad HQ, I got to thinking that we've gone way too long without putting names to faces. This doesn't just mean the writers -- I also mean you, the readers! We'd like to get some idea of the interest level of a TV Squad meetup for fans of TV Squad. Want to meet a bunch of the TV Squad team? Meet with other readers and fans of your favorite shows? How about some chances to win some cool free TV stuff and see some of the latest gear? Well, we want to hear from you so we can start putting it together.
I've got a couple of polls after the jump. Please take the time to answer them and leave comments if you've got other ideas. We all think this would be a great idea and, if the first one is a success, we'll do another one in a different location!
UPDATE: We say San Diego because we'd do it during Comic-Con.

I live way too far away to be able to attend, but it sounds like something that you should do. I think that it would be a success, especially after the recent tragedy. People need to be able to reach out to one another and this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.
At Christmas, I was in Cape May, New Jersey, not too terribly far from NYC, so it is within the realm of possibility that one day, I may be able to attend one of the get togethers. Go for it!

It would be interesting although I would be a little afraid to meet some of Bridgette's fans.

After the Idiot's Delight Digest had been up and running for awhile, it was suggested that we get together and finally meet these other fans of Vin Scelsa's radio show face to face. At first it seemed like a daft idea, but we did it.
We just had our 13th annual BBQ this past Sunday. Relationships have begun from our group getting together; a couple of marriages; and I'm the godfather to the daughter of another "Iddiot".
So I say let's do this. I think it would be fun to meet other like-minded "televisiologists" who know cast changes on old sitcoms like baseball fans know their stats. Maybe it'll turn out to be a one-time only concept, but at least we'd be able to say we gave it a shot.

Can at least one police officer be on duty during the meetup to protect Brigitte against her stalke... err, highly devoted fans?

You know, I've been thinking about this for a while. I might have even e-mailed you guys about it once. A meet-up would be awesome, especially since the TV Squad family has grown so much in the past year. I live in NY so that makes my choice obvious.
When I first envisioned a meetup, I have to say that I would have been most interested to meet Adam, especially. We should celebrate his memory somehow.

no need for police to protect Brigitte, as I her future fiance of four years will be there to safe guard her.

Perhaps Brigitte should video-blog-conference in for the party, or else wear a false moustache and Ray-Bans.

If Bob stays at home sure ;-)
I'm from Germany so New York would be the choice for me IF I had 500 Euro (800 US$) lying around to spend on something like this :-)
I miss Adam :-(

How about further north in the Los Angeles area? NYC is too far away, San Diego is better but I selected neither as L.A. would be my personal choice.

Unfortunately, I don't live in proximity to either place. Though it would have been fun!

Ohhhh... I would SO love to go, are you kidding me???
But I have a mortgage, a stepkid, blahblahblah, so I couldn't do either locations since I'm stuck in Tampa.
Definitely do it, and then video-blog for the rest of us who can't come!!!
Unrelated, but it's been on my mind: I hope somebody is collecting all of Adam's writings from his various sites & putting them together in a book. It was such a treat to read so much of his stuff in one sitting. Even though I'd cry, then laugh, then cry some more, then cry- laughing because he was so damn funny & it's just tragic that he's gone.

Meh,.. it might be fun for a casual meet-up, but unless you can get us onto a BSG set or something of the like, I don't really see the point.
I guess I'm just trying to say that I wouldn't be willing to drive 6 (or more) hours just to put a name to a face or meet one of the venerable TVS bloggers. (Although I have a feeling that Patrick and Jim would drive cross country just to meet Brigitte in person). Yeah,.. now that I think about it, if you guys are going to do this and Brigitte's going to be making an appearance, make sure you give her adequate protection. Those two are crazy.

Hey, I'm on the East coast. It's not convenient. I am ornery. Let's just leave it on the web. Besides, I would not want to meet Patrick and his drewling over Brigitte.

Yes a Meetup in Sunny San Diego would be great. You won't get any better weather than in San Diego.

I'd love to come. Even though it would cost a lot (at least $1000), the hell with it!
Yes, that's how much it would cost to fly over from Romania, Europe. New York is the most accessible.
It's a go for the TV Squad meeting!
