Like I said yesterday, the press kits have started to come in to the TV Squad offices. Some of them are way cool, some are downright silly and some are nonexistent. Just last week I got one in from the TV Guide Channel for their upcoming red carpet coverage of the Emmy awards. OK, sounds reasonable, right? When I opened the box and the hermetically sealed canister within, what I saw made me fear that I had just unleashed some unseen beast unto my unsuspecting family. As it turns out, only my dog was in danger.
Inside the canister (yes, a canister) was a plastic bag, stapled shut with a cardboard tag. Here's a closer look at that tag:
Inside the plastic bag is that thing in the upper-left of the photo: red, wax lips.
It's no secret that Lisa Rinna has gargantuan lips. I'm pretty sure she's denied having ever gotten collagen injections. What I wonder is, if she didn't come up with this marketing idea, then who came up with it and how the hell did they approach her with the idea, assuming she knows about it?
"Lisa. Joey. We've got this fantastic idea to promote the show to television writers all over the country! Lisa, you've got huge lips. I mean balloon huge. So let's get a shot with Joey wearing some giant, gross wax lips. And then the slogan: 'The Party Starts HERE!', with Joey giving the thumbs up, right at his mouth. Brilliant!"
The plans for what we'd do with the wax lips is more of a mystery. Apparently dogs find then irresistible, as mine made it his midnight snack last night.

I'm reminded of a joke from a Comedy Central roast about Pamela Anderson's "lips." Nicky DiPaolo, I think. Classic stuff. Thanks for the memory.

That blog was way to long to rant about TV Guide Channel! I can't believe that worthless outdated crap is still even on the air...do yourself a favor and get an interactive guide and watch E! if you want brainless entertainment (at least its a full screen).

Lisa definitely knows about it. There is a spot with the two of them that runs on the TV Guide channel that uses those lips. I think it's funny. I rather like celebrities who can make fun of themselves.
