Dear Readers,
We usually don't get into anything that serious or deep here at TV Squad, but something has happened and we thought we should share it with you.
Our friend and colleague Adam Finley died last Thursday morning in Minneapolis. He was hit by a bus while riding his bike. He was just 30 years old.
We are all devastated here at TV Squad. Adam was truly one of the good guys, and if you read his work here and elsewhere on the web, you know that he was a funny, talented, special person. I've known him for several years, even before TV Squad, and I'm truly at a loss for words.
If you're wondering why Adam has posts after Thursday, it's because that's how the post scheduling works here sometimes. We here actually didn't hear the news of Adam's passing until Saturday afternoon.Instead of the usual TV news and reviews today, we're going to pay tribute to Adam all day, running our favorite posts of his that he has done over the past couple of years. We hope you'll indulge us, and maybe get to know Adam all over again through his TV Squad writing (and at Adjab). You should also check out his blog/podcast Raise Your Children My Way Damnit, his MySpace page, and other stuff he wrote. If you would like to comment on any of the posts we tribute today, please do so here, as we're turning off comments on those posts.
We love you Adam, and you'll be missed.

Adam was a very big part of TV Squad, and I'll miss him greatly. He was a kind person and one of the funniest people I knew. I often told him he was destined for greater things with his writing talent, and I'm extremely saddened that it's all come to such a tragic and sudden end.
May today's posts of tribute live on within search engines to entertain people for many years to come.

I wish I had something poetic to say here, but I don't. He was a hell of a writer and though I never got a chance to meet him personally, just judging from his emails to the team, he was a hell of a person.
I'll miss him every day I read TV Squad and don't see one of his posts.

Wow. I'm really sad to hear this. I always enjoyed reading his writing because he covered the type of stuff I always wanted to read-and usually the way he felt on something is how I felt too.
You will be missed, Adam. Thanks for all of your work.

I'm not usually one to find coincidences in small things in life, to read this to me is sad, and creepy since I have the same name - adam finley.. even more so, i received an email from a random person whom recently stumbled across my blog in search of info regarding your friend Adam. The creepy part of the story was, the blog posting was entitled 'biking again'.. and yes, I was listening to my iPod on that particular biking.. Needless to say I'm a little weirded out right now.
My condolences go out to the family of the Adam Finley you knew and loved, I hope that he will be remembered.

I remember Adam from AdJab as well, and was struck by his insight and wit. Another star in our universe blinks out, and will be missed terribly.

Oh my gosh, this is so sad. I'm stunned.
As a bike rider myself I have had many close calls with cars and trucks running red lights, or cutting me off and I live in a small town. I can only imagine how much more dangerous it in a bigger city.
I enjoyed his posts. My sincerest condolences to you all at TV Squad and to Adam's family. I'll miss his posts!

I'm shocked. Adam was truly one of the coolest, funniest, and best natured guys out there. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and everyone here at TV Squad. Let's remember him for what he loved to do. I can't help but think he's currently living out one of those imagined dialogues with God that he wrote on this blog.

TV Squad, and the world, lost one of the truly good guys with Adam's passing. He was a unique and talented man who had the gift of being able to make anyone smile, and the world really needs that kind of person now more than ever. I, too, hope he's having a wonderful and silly face-to-face with "the Man upstairs" right now. (Thanks, Chris W, for remembering that)
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. He will be missed.

Rest In Peace, Adam. Gonna miss reading that humor. And folks, for those that run or ride a bike, we can do something to prevent how long it took for loved ones to find out. Keep ID on your person. They make ID tag for shoes (roadid dot com). Sorry if this sounds like a plug. I would hope this could help. Sincerest condolences to his family and TV Squad.

I am shocked and saddened as well... I haven't been keeping up with TVSquad as closely as I have in the past, mostly due to the summer off-season, so I found out from a cross-post by Engadget. Not only are they a sister-site, but the tech angle being that his identity was tracked down through his iPod brought mixed feelings. On one hand, it's a benefit of our technology age, but it's also a somewhat disturbing privacy issue. But I immediately remembered his name when they mentioned it and I thought I'd pay my respects to Adam's memory.
