The news will not surprise many fans, especially TV spoilers addicts like myself. However, the departure of this major character will affect the show, the characters, and the fans. Not to worry, the person parting ways with FOX's Prison Break is not Wentworth Miller or Dominic Purcell. Want to know who it is? The answer, after the jump!Spoilers ahead!
Over the summer, a few spoilers sites announced that the show was recasting the role of Doctor Sara Tancredi, played by actress Sarah Wayne Callies. When this spoiler got out, production and Callies' people quickly announced that the actress was staying with the show and that this casting call was to find a body double for the first few episodes because Callies needed some time off after giving birth.
Sara Tancredi was to be held hostage in the first few episodes and we were to only see her silhouette, her face in shadows, her hair, etc. Callies reportedly recorded dialog that would be used in those episodes (for example, a phone conversation with Michael).
If you recall, the season 1 finale featured Sara making a suicide attempt. The show's creators had planned to kill the character off but had to change their plans when the network ordered them to keep her as she was the only potential love interest for Michael and many fans liked the character. Callies came back for season 2. Sometime last year, the actress announced that she was pregnant. The show said that Tancredi would be sticking around but that her role would be reduced for a few episodes in the third season. Over the summer, we learned that Callies would be back. However, it was later revealed that she would not be a series regular anymore but a recurring character. Fans continued to speculate that maybe Sara would eventually exit the show, especially since the show was finally adding a few female regulars.
It was confirmed today that Sarah Wayne Callies is not returning to the show as first suspected. It is unknown at this point what they will do with the character. One funny rumor that made its way over the net this summer was that Sara would be killed and that her head would be sent to Michael. Will that happen now that they can't get the actress back on the show? Will they keep Sara on the show but have her be played by another actress?

Having seen the first couple of episodes of the new season, I can confirm that phone call bit and also the voiceovers and vague shadows for Sara.
As for the head being mailed to Michael, I could see that happening with how dark things start out. And god, that would make for one hell of an angry Michael.

Good riddance to the most pointless character on the show. They got rid of Tunney once she outlived her usefulness to advance the plot- Callies was useless the entire 2nd season. A grafted on love interest that had no reason to exist aside from the fact that they needed a pretty face on the show. Should have left her for dead the first time.
Then again, the whole show has become so impossible to believe I guess my entire point is moot.

God i don't want to watch the show anymore, the relashionship between her and Michael was one of the reason that i watch it. And even if her caracter is played by another actress i won't watch it. Big desapointment here. :-((((

She can't leave!!!She may seem like a pointless character but every good series needs a romantic relationship.
They spent 2 years building her up as a character and now they're just gonna kill her off or let her go??
It wud totally destroy the whole scenario.
And it would suck BIG time if there Sara was played by someone else.
PB would really lose some of it's viewers.
I hate when characters leave,I get so attached to them.

Sara how could you? I understand becoming a mother for the first time, I have three! But after you break your commitment to Fox and everyone on the show not to mention the fans, you will regret your decision!!! This is going to put a huge damper on the flow of the story line. Why not come to the set just long enough to shot one or two episodes so that the writers could atleast give the fans some closure on misa? Sara how could you?

She was not my favorite character at all... but I didn't think she was pointless. I think her character is important to Michael's motivation and survival. Weird that they'd let her go... and why not ride that gravy train??
That said, I've LOVE to see her head in a box. Would be a great way to off her. Anything less would be kind of bo-ring!

Don't know if this rumors are true wet but it's kind of diificult to believe it when the rumor change by the sites. Some sites say that she will not be back after the birth of her girl and others say that she will not be back after the birth of her son. Weird. Hope she will, however i'll lose big interest for the show.
