Back when I used to review Prison Break, I was pretty harsh on the show. In fact, I simply stopped being the reviewer for the show and passed the torch onto someone who more appreciated it for what it was. As we approached the second season finale, I was pretty sure I was going to wash my hands of the show after the finale. Once the finale aired, however, I had a bit of renewed interest.
If you were lucky enough to catch the short preview of the new season last month, you can get a sense of what we're in store for.
The third season starts out with quite a different feel than we've been used to for the past two seasons. From the early scenes within the Panamanian prison of Sona, we see that Fox River was a wonderful vacation resort in comparison. Hot, filthy and lacking any internal guards, everyone is left on their own, for the most part.
Internally run by inmate Lechero (Robert Wisdom), Sona is like one big Thunderdome where people settle their differences by killing each other. Lechero calls all the shots within the prison, including who fights, who eats, who gets water and, as we see early on of Bellick, who gets clothing.
Speaking of Bellick, after the second episode you start to feel a little bad for the guy. He's had to resort limping around the prison in nothing but his skivvies, plus we sadly find that not even his dear old mom knows he's been locked away in that hellhole.
Someone who's had a hand in the past two seasons of the show makes an appearance as a new inmate in the second episode, looking very much like a Salacious Crumb.
The conclusion of the second episode really sets up the premise for the rest of the season. The folks responsible for this show were able to keep the Prison Break name and make it work. You'll see that there really could be a way for this show to continue for many seasons to come.
I never thought I'd say this, but after seeing the first two episodes I'm excited for the rest of the new season. It's darker, grittier, more is at stake and, finally, Lincoln has to show his worth with the tables turned this time around.
The new season starts September 17. Check out our post about what to expect in season three for some spoilers, if you're interested.

Stupidest show on television. Ever. Worse than Manimal. The entire series is based on a bad premise...the protagonist committed a crime (no matter what, he committed that armed robbery) to save his brother from a prison that he could have broken into from the outside. Lame.

I agree YouFaceTheTick. I think The Simpson's is dumb too, I mean, come on, all of that stuff wacky happens to one family? Lame.
It's called suspension of disbelief. Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspension_of_disbelief
Seriously, Prison Break is a great show. If CBS and Fox ever programmed Prison Break, 24 and Amazing race after one another, the number of heart attacks in America would jump dramatically.

Schofield did not commit 'armed robbery'. He fired a gun in a bank, which is a felony in itself. After doing so, he put the gun down and surrendered.
I think the premise of season 1 was plausible. Season 2 was weak, very weak, but it worked okay, I guess. Season 3 appears to be weaker, but action may make up for it.

i believe the main weakness of the movie is "moral".
scofield saving his brother was naturally acceptable.but if we see the consequences of the escape,blood thirst criminals were let to escape.eg.T.bag,and he did quench his thirst by slaughtering innocent people.inorder to save your brother ,more innocent people die?is it morally acceptable,what scofild did was,unchaining a wild animal to the public.{said}
